Funny I thought it was the other way around

There are 4 ragers, and 4 fanboys, and then a looooooooooooooooooooooot of people that:

1) does not care at all

2) are happy with it

(Either of them do not post at all because they do not feel the urge to express their rejection or defend the MP)

So yeah, DAMP is a good thing. Even if 4 ragers do not buy the game, the 4 fanboys will spend so much money on it it will make up for it.

And then we have the great part of the community, which will enjoy it, and pay a little maybe, making a lot of money for the investment they made.

I think ME3MP was a huge economic success, and DAMP will be too.

Edit: And dont forget the people that will buy the game because it has MP! There are people not interested anymore in any gaming that is not MP

Map packs, skins, weapon skins, extra classes, xp boosts, extra abilities\spells. Goldmine.

It seems like they're following the ME3 model, so maps will probably be free.  And the other stuff will be possible to acquire free if you're willing to grind.

Forgive me for not reading all 53 pages but I was losing the will to live by page 10.

So sorry if people have passed opinion on what I'm about to offer.

It's not Dragon Age without tactics and pause.  Which is exactly as Mass Effect was.

However the whole point of Co-op multiplayer is that it is about teamplay and tactics.  The difference is that you are not the only one making it happen, you can "Gasp" talk to the others to plan or react (less important much later when everyone knows how to play well).  You don't need to pause to get XXXXX to cast a spell or attack YYYYY.  The other players can work it out for themselves and that makes thing a lot more fun if you get a group of folks who work well together, or even randoms sometimes.

This is all speculaton, but...

Well, the only skill tree we have seen so far had 10 passives, 2 actives and 2 upgrades. He had at least 3 skill trees from what we have seen, and I dont think there are many more... I dont think any MP character will be able to have more than 8 abilities. In fact I dont even know if they would reach 8.

The max is 20 levels, so 20 skills. Since the skill tree had those 2 abilities far down, I guess we will start with some abilities and then depending on which path we take, we can choose between 6 actives total (2 per tree)... So yeah, I think the max will be 8 skills, which seem A LOT for a MP game. (The idea is to complement each other)

The way they have described it is the same as ME3's MP. You cannot buy an item, you can just buy a chest.

Chests are given by playing or paying (bought with both currencies), and they give you random loot. It can be a RNG nightmare. But at least is not like someone paid 10 bucks to get the imba weapon. They just paid 10 bucks to skip some hours of play.

Since this game is cooperative, I dont mind if someone had more luck than I did and got something sooner. In fact, once you have unlocked everything, it kind of kills the need to play more, since by then you will surely be tired of playing it. I played a lot of ME3 and I remember I did not pay for anything ever. And I had a lot of fun.

id assume at least half of those passives are activated buffs so with a max lvl of 20, and assuming you invest in more than 1 skill tree you should end up with at least 12-13 abilities to choose from

technically pausing and tactics are optional, just saying

That day has come and gone my friend.  I remember going to the arcade and inserting many quarters to respawn in the X-Men arcade game.

Nah arcades that kind of behavior is expected (but it's never that expensive anyway. Most I ever had to pay was a buck). I'm talking about games you've already paid 60 bucks for :P that's what makes it so much worse.

The possibility of playing through the main campaign in co-op sounds fine to me (of course, via LAN should be possible as well). It works well in the amazing Divinity Original Sin, to tell a recent example.

Even some missions outside the main campaign with an original story might be interesting. Better yet if they're still playable solo. AC Unity seems to take this route.

This kind of horde mode co-op doesn't interest me at all, though. ME3 MP was boring as hell and yet I had to play it to get an achievement and to raise galactic readiness.

So, again, I'm sorry, but I'll wait until a considerable price drop now. Not buying at the asking price is the only way to get my point across :)

If you have co-op in the main campaign who gets to be the inquisitor?

But that's the thing.

This is dungeon crawling co-op and not horde mode ala ME 3.

Well, you obviously need to create the game with this in mind from the start. I certainly wasn't expecting DAI to have a co-op main campaign option at this point.

In Divinity Original Sin you control 2 heroes even when you're playing solo, so that's why it works great. In Dungeon Siege 3 Obsidian created a system were your companions could disagree with your dialogue options or not.

This also makes me wonder if the Cerberus clones the Red Templars were thought up and fully designed with the SP story and features in mind or if Bioware needed another faction with a big boss monster for the MP game and created the Red Templars and then put them in the SP game.

So far the enemies shown in the IGN video weren't RT. I doubt they won't appear though.
Also, they're not Cerberus clones. In ME3 the vast majority of Cerberus was turned indoctrinated, with only a small faction that defected. In DAI there's still a lot of normal templars.

Funny I thought it was the other way around

From what I saw there's a lot in the middle, with small extreme pro and con factions.

Though you don't have to play this multiplayer to get the best possible outcome, it is completely separate from the main campaign, it is an optional feature, but yeh, its your choice at the end of the day.

What growing up? Yeah that's pretty hard this days.

Also i'm little surprised that there isn't topic dedicated to a petition for removing MP from the game cause "it's suck resource from SP" or a topic with a poll on how many people deleted their pre order, or even better still no telephone threat to Bioware employer

Hmmm... from the video (I'm at work, so no audio) I don't see much difference.

There's loot added here, but the emphasis seems on the action and the killing of enemies.

I don't even read anything about a story here. Just objectives given before the start of the mission :/

In horde mode you guard a specific location against hordes of enemies, in dungeon crawl you enter at one end of the dungeon and have to fight trough enemies to reach the other

basically, in horde mode the enemies come to you, in dungeon crawling you go to the enemies
