My hype went way down with this (not unexpected) announcement. But those are just feelings and they will pass, and hype will return in time.
I don't like MP, like at all. But it's optional in this case, so it's fine. Although looking towards the future has me a tad worried.
If they branch out into full on MP campaigns. I'm so not interested in any kind of MP and I don't want non-static story to be DAMP gated.

This
is a definitive claim.
Based on the evidence that Mass Effect 2 and 3 are my favorite BioWare games, and that the things I disliked in DA2 have been changed for Inquisition, I disagree.
Ah, okay, the base system then. The base system in Mass Effect 3 was the same, but the SP did not limit your abilities in the radial menu like the MP did.
I wish they had listened to more. They didn't do a damn thing to fix DA2's ultra-restrictive weapon system.

Hopefully there will be some way to sort those cards in the game. I can easily imagine it being easy to miss a card you are looking for after a few extra characters are added.

nice article from Forbes...
I have to agree with one of the questions/statements...
"Hopefully DA:I multiplayer isn’t built along the same lines as something like EA’s mobile disaster Dungeon Keeper"

101 people (48.1%) were positive
39 people (18.6%) were negative
70 people (33.3%) were neutral
agreed which is why I find it interesting that in a place that is for their more dedicated fans the numbers seem fairly even in a way.
So if we were to include those neutral with those those that are negative then its really just under half wanted DA:MP and just over half didn't ask for it and that is optimal numbers from here so far...
yes I know its a small sample size but it is interesting
Neutral means just that. Neutral. No one gets to take them on their sides. You can only the ones that are for or ageinst. If the ones that are against are the lesser, then they are the lesser. No way around that.
I does not mean a small amount of people are interested.

Having your character develop short-term amnesia, then?
From an RP perspective, it would be like choosing to use certain abilities during a specific encounter, or put another way, not choosing to use every single technique in your arsenal just because you can.
I think it would have offered a nice incentive to play MP.
Agree, also would have been a nice perk for someone like me who is going to spend hundreds of hours there for no reason other than to have fun.

That's not even your concern. You're complaining about it effecting the sp, why would you be concerned about transactions.

DAO/DA2 console still gave you the radial menu, to use abilities that weren't mapped. DAI does not.
Ah yeah I have not seen the radial menu. But there is the tactical camera with pausing so you can select what ability to use.

It's gone during combat, and you can't remap abilities during combat, just "in the field". You're chained to those eight, and that's it.

If you don't think the "fee-to-pay" in Inquisition'll be too bad, good on ya. Just remember what EA's like when it gets a foot in the door.

What I'm not allowed to be concerned about potential abuse of microtransactions buy EA...
<sarcasm> Who are you the Though\Care Police?
remember I said I would give it a try... I can not want it but give it a try

Probably like ME3 where you can set names, although they're never really acknowledged.
I named my Destroyer War Machine and my Slayer was Iron Man.

I wonder if voiced NPC will be in MP that aren't enemies. These maps are deserted for the most part.

Oh, they noticed, alright. Mass Effect 2 did the exact same thing. You know what they did for Mass Effect 3? They fixed it. And not only that, improved upon it. DAI's done literally nothing.

That $0 I paid over the course of 100 hours of ME3 MP sure was steep.

Mass Effect 3 was indeed an improvement in many ways gameplay-wise. But anecdotally I rarely hear people complain about the weapon restrictions in DA2, especially compared to the amount of people that complained about it in ME3. I'll admit that this might just be because so many other complaints about DA2 were so much louder.

Their skepticism exists because at the release of ME3, it was impossible to get the breath scene without doing something to improve galactic readiness.
Or it could be that Bioware has constantly said that the two teams are separate and both games are made separately and MP will not have any impact on SP. Yet now we know that MP had had an effect on SP and that SP features were designed with MP in mind and that the MP game which is different to the SP game was used for designing encounters so they are fun instead of them being designed so they suit the SP game and are fun for the SP.
Bioware have admitted that MP has had an effect on some SP features so it also makes me wonder what other SP features have been designed with MP as the main consideration.

I don't see a real point in adding voiced non-enemies to a multiplayer dungeon run. Look at SWTOR and their dungeons and see how well voiced NPCs were received. If you play with others people aren't really that interested in having to wait on others to talk to or listen to some NPC. It just takes the speed out of dungeon runs. Also, at some point you have heard it all before and it just becomes a nuisance even for the players who are interested in taking in all the story.I wonder if voiced NPC will be in MP that aren't enemies. These maps are deserted for the most part.
The first exclusive DLC for the XBox was announced as being a single player DLC.I am hoping this does not exclude SP dlc as well, also let's hope that the exclusive Xbox DLCs are all multiplayer, yay!

I think you're insinuating that MP design influenced SP design, which is not what was said.

A little worried about DA:I ..... I'll definitely wait and see before / if I buy it. ( I have that ME3 feeling, that the game will be a vehicle just for the MP)
