ME3 is the game that got me into playing multiplayer in the first place, and I played that for two years solid after finishing the SP game. I would never, ever, want to give up my SP experience in favor of MP. But that being said, for me, MP was a way to extend the ME experience long after the end, and it was fun. I am so excited by this announcement, and it really sounds like another experience I will be sure to enjoy.

Just when I didn't think I could possibly anticipate this game any more. :)

ETA: The idea of our own version of party banter in MP is also awesome.

How long till the novelty of an MMO wears out? Game companies want their games to be played by as many gamers as possible and offering something for both play styles opens up the possibility that some who initially don't care about MP will want to try it. Some of those gamers may even end up liking it. But you don't have this with a separate MP game because a gamer who has only ever played single player is not going to spend money on something they don't know if they will like it.

And a separate MP is also a slap in the face of gamers who actually like both because they should just have to buy both games, solely because some gamers think certain franchises should remain single player only, for who knows what reason.

Maybe because those game franchises are great enough without a unneeded multiplayer component.

I don't really get this attitude some multiplayer enthusiasts have towards single player only games, those who prefer to play alone aren't incapable of having friends, nor are they introverts.

I will say this for the first and only time:Not every single game needs multiplayer nor does every gamer feel like socializing.Let them have their games and enjoy your multiplayer, there's no need to force your preferences on those who don't want to or like playing online.

Yea, I realised the same thing, so I'd already edited my post. Mind doing the same to hide my moment of stupidity?

No prob, I used the hide post option. That will remove it right?

God just did that Terror from Beyond boss in SWTOR. *that* was immensely annoying. Fun but annoying.

It gets easier once you have your positioning down. Burn phase isn't particularly tight. Now, Operator IX on HM/NiM, on the other hand, is atrocious.

Why not?  Upon what do you base your assumption here?  Because when I watch our single player game, I have no problems imagining how it would play if the companions were all controlled by my friends.

I also have no trouble imagining how it would play in such a scenario, and it's extremely different from how it would play in single player, at least if I was the solo player.

If MP and SP are similar, then SP is being played wholly differently from my preferred playstyle, because my preferred play style revolves around pause and full party control, neither of which are present in MP.  Hence my concern.

Nope. Terrible mount. Only thing worse would be a halla.

Wyvern, griffin or bust. Or at least give me the black stallion I mean sheesh.

Aaaw, why you gotta be like that to Princess Stabbyface? :(

Cause she's hideous and should feel bad :P

I wonder if a expansion or DLC could add in mounted combat. Mounted combat MP or otherwise could be fun...

I still would like an answer to my question.

Feel free to link me to it (or restate it) since a post like this doesn't tell me what your actual question was.

Technically only through the miracle of typoes. The Red Hart isn't actually a Halla.

Yes, they have.  But their presence doesn't mean that the game has been designed well to utilise them.

"This is seperate from the single player campaign and won't have any effect on it."

I feel like I've heard this before.

1. Multiplayer does not take resources away from single player. Source: David Gaider's blog - http://dgaider.tumbl...takes-away-from

2. Seems like something you would have to answer for yourself. Some people are still playing ME3's MP today, two and a half years after launch. Some people never played it at all.

3.  They cannot answer you with a "yes" which would be covered by NDA, but cannot answer for the entirety of Bioware (since there are also teams in Montreal and Austin working on other projects) so the answer is guaranteed to be "I don't know for certain, and I couldn't say even if I did."

Why does it have to be a MMOG to be multiplayer? Diablo 3 is a fun game in single or multiplayer, and it isn't a MMOG. Civilization 5 is a fun game in single or multiplayer, and it isn't a MMOG. Divinity: Original Sin is a fun game in single or multiplayer, and isn't a MMOG. ME3 is a fun game in single or multiplayer, and isn't a MMOG. You make it seem like it needs to be one or the other, when it really doesn't.

1. That still doesnt mean it doesnt affect the SP quality. Or some elements. As others have pointed out with the mapping of abilities or the amount that can be used, the UI, perhaps balancing.

2. Being that DAI is co-op only, I would imagine that it would lose peoples interests since  it lacks competitivness, but thats just an assumption.

3. I know that wouldnt be able to answer that.  I never said they need to be MMOG to be more fun, but the subject has been brought up before so it was just asked. Kinda like the testing of the sneaking around aspect MoTA DLC. It was fine and interesting because it was new. But lets be honest, the quality of it pales in comparisons to other games.

There's quite a difference between something that's seen as "We want to make a profit" and "You know all that stuff you used to get in a game? Take half of it out, and sell it piecemeal to people".

Why do you think the concept of microtransactions is reviled by the internet as a whole?

And yes, before the four or five people that go "I didn't spend anything on (X)", you're generally the minority.

But why does that matter? Even if the majority spent money (which I doubt) that doesn't mean you have to. The nice thing about having the option to spend money is that you also have the option not to. So if you are so against this "money grabbing gimic" then simply don't take part in it. You have two options then. Either don't play multiplayer and save money, or play multiplayer and don't spend money.

So basically if the majority of people want to spend money let them. No skin off your back.

But... we've already SEEN them pause and move party members/give orders in like 3 or 4 gameplay demos. How can you possibly be worried that feature won't be included?

Yeah it was my first time so I was running around like a headless chicken on my sniper XD

D:

My friend yesterday was complaining about the council said it took them hours D: he told me I had to go next time :crying:

Maybe the MP bosses could be mini raids XD though...I'm not sure how you'd do a raid boss without heals and a tank...

There's a halla bonus mount.

:P but I blame the elves for the typo. They tried to infest the bonus mount D:

I want a High Dragon mount, that way I can rain fire and destruction on my enemies.

EXACTLY

Or at least let us kill a dragon and mount it's head as a trophy :P

Sigh, Halla is sad, sad face Halla look what you have done.

Can I eat it? We can have the MP troops go after hallas for the food stores to save up for winter :3

...actually a MP hunt mode could be hilarious.

That's not what I was saying.  Since two people misread me, the fault is clearly mine, sorry.

My concern is as to how the combat will be designed to take advantage of the feature, not as to it's existence.
