Stoked. A nice extra treat for those that want to do it, it's like having extra frosting to put on your cupcake. For those that don't like it/want it? You don't have to play it. Seems pretty simple!
Fantastic bonus, I look very forward to this.

So another crappy horde mode? Bad news indeed.
Did you not read anything on the article or are you just remaining intentionally ignorant to make spiteful comments?

What a pointless addition to the game. Really
A micro-transaction based horde mode multilayer, come on Bioware.
I've said it a billion times but DA is a Real time with pause Strategy Game. That's how your MEANT to play it.
So it just makes scene to release an Entirely Real time Action Multiplayer component.
Mass Effect was a shooter & they gave u a reason to play it, Galactic Readiness
DA is a poor man's Hack and slash at best & they give u no narrative reason to play it.... Well done Bioware.
It looks boring & it sounds boring, there is no hook to this mode. How do they expect people to keep playing this? If there is no reason to why would they waste their time some mediocre Hack & clash Dungeon crawler?

Thus my second question.
And thus why I now have a tough choice to make. Whether I want to risk being burned yet again.
Don't ask the question if you are not going to believe the answer. You will save us a lot of bandwith. And when I say you I mean everyone else that will simply not believe anything they are told. Don't ask, avoid the mp topics, everyone will feel a lot better. If the words multiplayer are that much of a problem spend your money elsewhere, avoid a 120 hour potentially excellent rpg because those words have been uttered. It's all up to you.

If only there were SOME WAY to know. If only other players could play before you do and then tell you.
But no, your only option is to pre-order or not get the game at all. Sad, really.

and play the heck out of those three games first. Then when I am done with the three, I will get DA: Inquisition, when it is cheap, like I did with Dragon Age 2 so I won't feel like I am wasting money.
If I want to satisfy my thirst for multiplayer of any form, I will play Team Fortress 2. It is balanced, not broken, gets updated frequently and the RNG there is not crap.
Playing the Pillars of Eternity Beta. Looks fantastic. Will definitely be playing a lot of that.

Ah so the news is here and it is bad....Let me see...
- Dragon Age without tactical pause and play is not Dragon Age. This would explain all the combat shenanigans like Focus, less specializations, less abilities, weapon restrictions to classes.
- Only themes ? Won't affect the main story in any way ? When did I hear that before ? ME3 MP, of course !
- Bioware has never been good at multiplayer balancing. The classes are never balanced, the have a habit of introducing overpowered weapons and abilities that make old classes and old weapons obsolete. Some abilities were downright broken.
- RNG store. Enough said.
So I will, in all likelihood, pay full money for The Witcher 3 and Pillars of Eternity, download SkyWind and play the heck out of those three games first. Then when I am done with the three, I will get DA: Inquisition, when it is cheap, like I did with Dragon Age 2 so I won't feel like I am wasting money.

Option to install MP or not????
Not, very obviously. It will taint the sp game like a virus undobutably and make it suck, whereas if there was no button that said multiplayer, the single player game would be glorious.

Does affect any of the single player story? I.e. Strength of the Inquisition to get better outcomes for ending/or other plots
Nope. No story impact, aside from themes.
To clarify, playing MP vs. not playing MP will have no impact on your SP experience.
And no, singleplayer content is NOT locked behind MP.
(Genuine, in case in needs to be said) Question: I did read the article (or one of them, at any rate), but didn't see any mention of the 'themes' Mike mentions. Has there been any clarification on what that meant? note - I know what a theme is, but I'm asking in context to DA MP. We have John/Allan/Mark all saying no content locked, which is fine, but Mike saying no story impact, but for themes?

Exactly. This multiplayer thing with no pausing, no strategy and no tactics...Its not DA...ME3, at least it is already a shooter to begin with...

I figure by themes he means like attacking a Venatori stronghold and stuff

And having to split up a games budget between singleplayer and multiplayer content has nothing to do with anything

So because you deem it pointless it must be? I personally enjoy a hack-n-slash and being able to play one as a co-op in the DAI universe with friends is welcome. Even more so because I'm not paying extra for it, the DLC nor having to fuss over what it affects in my SP.

Wow that's a lot of negativity friend.
Well you don't have to play it I guess. Not unless MP somehow affects SP in a significant way, which I doubt would be the case considering ME3.
Or if you want to get all the achievements, which I never really cared for.

Not the same budget. If the game weren't going to have MP, it wouldn't have gotten the budget it got for MP.

Yeah, I heard that before.
About 2 and a half years ago.
Your best of course may be to wait and see if you're not sure. It will ensure you won't get burned, and if response is positive it's not like the game won't be available to you.
Cheers.
