Collector rifle is not a bad weapon, Explosive ammo or Cryo Ammoiv on the other hand....

It's not bad, but I don't want it...yet it's still in my inventory, with DAI this sort of things will be gone.

One thing that got me thinking, while I was playing ME3 MP now with a few friends, for the glory of it! I was wondering if we'll get an ingame chat for PC this time, kinda bugged me a bit that I couldn't chat ingame in ME3...

Sure you can use Origin's chat (or even Steam's chat if your run Origin through it, like we do lol), but when there's randoms in the game, I'd sure like communicate with em, without being required to have a headphone with mic.

Anyhow, I'm looking forward to this! Always fun to spin around some coop with fellow friends in a world/lore you absolutely love!

Good question. Would love an ingame chat for MP.

The difference is that DAMP has crafting. If you get a weapon you don't want, then you can break it down into raw materials to create a weapon you DO want.

Yeah, this is great IMO.

I ended up unlocking heaps of weapons that I never wanted to use in ME3, but if DAMP involves actually physically crafting weapons rather than unlocking them, it should be much easier to break them down and make something useful.

Of course, the downside to that is if you want to give that weapon to another character later on...

Just look at ME3, it has micro-transactions, yet you can get EVERYTHING without paying.

For the same reason you can but Reinforcements packs in ME3 with Bioware points.

Microtransactions are what pay for the free DLCs, I don't see how a $10 higher price tag would pay for 2 years of support and content updates, especially since the initial price tag is bound to decrease.

I'd rather have microtransactions à la ME3 rather than paid DLCs

Care to explain GTA V Online the same defense of "but micro transactions(Shark Cards) pay for DLC why be butthurt bro?" is even used lets take the current Flight School DLC as an example sure the DLC is "free" however the content inside of it is not for example the Bersa plane comes in 2 different skins 1 of them is $1.6Million GTA$ want the other skin that'll be 100K GTA $ more please and the way mission payouts and the cost of replacing ammo you'd have to grind for a few days to earn that kind of money unless you want to buy the "optional" Shark Cards  and that is RockStar who reputation is nowhere near as bad as EA.

This just has the same rinse repeat written all over it the only difference it that guns, planes and card have been swapped for swords, armor and spells/talents/stat boost items. Micro Transactions are supposed to be used by small indie devs making F2P games to recoup their Dev costs, and now the big corporations abuse the system to rake in extra money by the back door no matter how you spin it.

Is there one inventory for all characters? It seems like there were conflicting reports on whether we could move gear between characters or not.

I believe it's one inventory for all characters, yeah.

That was the tradeoff to breaking down weapons. Since MP classes are restricted to certain categories of weapons, you can give weapons that your main class can't use to other characters - or you could destroy them to get better components and make something new.

I want to know this too. I can understand armor/skills not carrying over, but moving a bow from one archer to another, or a warhammer across shouldn't be an issue.

Would make getting through those early levels of no sweet stuff super bearable.

Sigh, you seem like a cool guy Jim83 but, you keep trying to force this micro transaction point and it has one flaw It's Optional you can ****** about the prices all you want but anything in GTA online can easily be acquired with a day or two of play.

Or you can buy them with the in-game gold currency...you can even loot equipement and salvage the materials for something else.

Do really expect EA/Bioware not to nerf gold payouts for completing dungeons to "encourage" you to buy platinum currency while a few may have the determination to never buy platinum currency packs most are far too susceptible to cave in because they want to be able to compete with their friends in the eternal game of "my item X is better then your Item X because it does +2 more damage", I have heard of naivete but this takes the soggy old biscuit.

I have been video gaming since the mid 80's and have seen this con job tried so many times that I can see it coming hidden underneath all the "hyperbole". sadly it seems too many are blind to it either intentionally through misguided brand loyalty or otherwise.I can only hope people come to their senses before being exploited like this though evidently from the replies in this thread its a wasted venture.

Pretty sure that you can't have more than one of a given class at a time, like you couldn't have more than one Asari Justicar at a time. But you could, in theory, find a 2-handed sword while on an adventure as an Assassin and then equip it on your Reaver or Katari later.

The cold facts are that microtransactions are optional.

I wish this open mic stuff would die....or at least you had the OPTION to enable push to talk.  I like the people I play with, but my god I don't want to know the details of their lives or personal issues going on...bodily or relationship wise.  I don't see how this caught on in the first place, but it needs to die.  Push to talk needs to be standard or at the very least optional.

If its anything similar to ME3, then it won't be an issue. Silver paid out like 30k-ish I think. Gold was from 60-70, Platinum was like 150. Then the packs were priced 5k for baby level stuff, 20k for medium stuff, 60k for single good stuff, 99k for two good stuffs.

Works fine with ME3, and now you even get MORE WAYS to get stuff; salvage unwanted stuff or get loot directly on the battlefield.

maybe so and apologies if its annoying, despite my desire to not have MP anywhere near DA,I'd rather that if it must above all else be added that players are not so exploited....... I get that EA is a Business and has to cover costs etc but this.............there are far better more consumer friendly ways that would allow EA to make a tidy profit while having a modicum of respect and decency for the people that make their products financially successful.

Tell me more about your extensive video game business experience. I hope it is more impressive than your extensive video game development experience.

Yeah.

Though I don't think it's been established yet whether classes are actually restricted to only one type of weapon. Maybe Katari can't use shields and Legionnaires can't use 2H swords, I don't know.

(Didn't Reavers attack with their hands/claws, or did I imagine that?)

Reavers use 2-handed weapons for ordinary melee attacks. The glowy claw attacks were special moves.

I'm so excited for the people who can't play a Reaver that well saying it has to be nerfed once someone who is good plays it well. "SHE STOLE ALL MY KILLS IN THE COOP GAME MODE WITH SHARED XP, ITEMS AND GOLD! FUKN BS BIOWER!@!"

If it turns out like that then fine, except right now all we have are their "assurances" and their track record shows that they are not exactly stellar in that regard. the "assurances" we have been given are so identical nearly that if you took the ME3 "assurances" issued in 2011 and just replaced ME3 with DAI it would be hard to tell the difference.

It concerns me greatly that people at Bioware who say they are "gamers" put something so "anti consumer/gamer"in and then they say things like "this is the game we have always wanted to make" . Providing a method that allows the Dev to infinitely exploit the customer Is this really what a gamer would want? Does this not bother you? it sure bothers me

Im sorry but telling EA/Bioware not to use something that makes them money is like telling me (a bar owner) not to have happy hour because it makes people drink too much...
