Just an educated guess but perhaps racial types for the base classes

Qunari warrior

elven mage

dwarven rogue

ect

Yeah, I figured as much for the basic classes. I am actually more interested to know if BioWare plans to add specialty kits to DAMP though  :D.

I doubt they would completely reveal their entire line up they have planned, but it would be awesome to have some conformation from the devs if we can expect characters in the same vein as the Geth Juggernaut or the Volus 'medic'; except more varied and unique, with engaging new gameplay mechanics, and generally being more awesomer

Maybe we will be able to summon one  :)

I would prefer to be the Mabari personally, but then again I am pretty weird about things like that

I just read through this thread. Thanks. I am very excited about this mode of MP for Dragon Age Inquisition.

Since this is CO-OP, do we have any confirmed MIC/Headset support for this game? Not that you needed it in ME3 MP, but it would be nice to have the option to Adventure with other players who use the tool.

I can't imagine it wouldn't. ME3 MP supported mics/headsets.

From the gameinfomer piece

"Your enemies also change, since each scenario pits you against one of three factions: Demons, Venatori, or Red Templars."

calling Darkspawn faction as DLC

GameInformer's "Step by Step Guide to Multiplayer"

http://www.gameinfor...campaign=buffer

"You can only map four combat abilities (as opposed to eight), and you can’t use the action-pausing tactical camera mode. "

*sigh*

"Once you have your items, you should sort through them to see if there’s anything you don’t want. It might be frustrating for an Archer to get a mage staff in a chest, but it isn’t a complete waste. If you don’t want to save items for when you try out the other classes (since they do carry over), you can salvage unwanted gear and get crafting items in return. With just a little tinkering, these components can create new armor, weapons, and upgrades that your character can use. It’s not as efficient as getting the new items directly, but it beats having a pile of stuff in your inventory that never gets used."

That's an interesting system. Not sure how I feel about it.

Kinda like Diablo III

My feeling is the more different ways to acquire gear the better

ME3's store was exhilarating and infuriating

I think this will keep that exhilaration with a bit less of the infuriating part

I'll admit that I am a little bummed about not being able to bring a full set of powers to battle like my SP character, but the fact that we can map our abilities to the layout we want (mentioned in the article) as well as each class getting two separate skill trees; thereby providing additional variety even if people are using the same class; more than makes up for it (IMO).

I am glad to see that DAMP has improved upon MEMP's use of abilities and character variety; it was incredibly annoying that I couldn't map my powers in MEMP, and everyone playing as the same class was monotonous as everyone had the exact same capabilities.

I will no doubt be frustrated when I spend my hard earned gold on a DAMP equivalent to a Premium Spectre pack and only get silver level items, but at least the salvage and crafting mechanics allow for (slightly) more player control in regards to their unlocks.

Based on the legionnaire tarot card (and name), I think he'd a male dwarf.
The assassin card is strange, since the character has single central horn. Maybe it's a mask?

It's a mask

you can see where it ends just above the character's mouth

How is crafting different between SP and MP?

·         Dragon Age multiplayer is about mastering the fight with friends in a party-based adventure, and crafting is a key element of progression. Through crafting, you will be able to create new items that will make you better at fighting. There is some overlap between SP and MP recipes, and some are exclusive to one mode or the other. Crafting also lets you create new armors. If you craft a set of Alchemist Armor, you unlock that character, who can then open up a lot of possibilities on MP missions. You can also craft new armors for characters you already own. They will give your character a new special look but no extra stats. In SP you gather materials through exploration. In MP you salvage items to get them.

Edit And this question.

How do I unlock new characters?

·         In Dragon Age multiplayer, changing the party composition with new characters can be the difference between failing and succeeding. You can unlock new characters by crafting their armor. Crafting materials are acquired by salvaging items such as weapons and weapon mods. You may also get a new armor in a chest that you can buy with gold coins. Getting a new character is definitely a goal to be pursued on Dragon Age multiplayer.

Arcane Warrior for Mage (here's hoping), don't know for rogue.

I think that BioWare has already confirmed Arcane Warrior for one of the Mage classes. I'm not sure which article it was that I saw that mentioned though.

New Game Informer article - "Five Incorrect Assumptions About Multiplayer":

http://www.gameinfor...nquisition.aspx

- "if you do play multiplayer, you may be treated to seeing some characters from the mode wandering around the Inquisition’s captured keeps. Apart from nods like that, the economies and progress between the two modes are separate."

On DLC:

"New classes, gear, enemies, and operations are all possibilities, along with weekend challenge events that also carry special rewards for those who finish them. BioWare plans to provide this kind of support over the long term – even longer than Mass Effect 3, which was receiving free updates for nearly a year after release."

This all seems pretty inspired by the ME3 MP, but with lots of improvements. Me likey :D Against all expectations, I wasted hours and hours on the MP, so chances are it'll be even better for DA:I. My only hope is that we won't be at the mercy of fickle RNG gods again...
