Well, the vallasin are kind of a giveaway though.

I doubt that most of Kirkwall has any idea what that is, let alone what it means to a Dalish Elf. Also, it's stated in the codex Merrill spend the majority of her time in her house locked withe mirror or under Hawke and Varric's protection. She's an invalid example all around.

That's not the impression I got. I think she said it was a list of all Qunari agents in Thedas, and since it was years old, some of them had bailed. All of the rest, though, were still active sleeper agents to the Qunari, and very much deserving of a nice decapitation.

Man, the ending to that DLC was crap.

But everyone on that list was most likely going to get killed as well. Even the ones who left.

The Chantry had to have known what going on there. If anything, you need to talk to the Grand Cleric of Rivain for letting it slip under her nose, cause there's no way in hell Dairsmuid could have slipped under her nose.

The Chantry is too merciful for it's own good.

It took a woman of actual conviction: Petrice to see what must be done with the Qunari.

If Rivain is fortunate, they will find a mother half as good.

Kirkwall was a dumb hellhole, and leave it at that?

Agreed, Kirkwall sucked.

A dumb hellhole with a thin veil, blood mages coming out of the wood work and dalish elves squatting in the hills.

Oh and Qunari

Man if Thedas had nuclear weapons i'd advise them to just obliterate the damn place.

Let me tell you something...I have never hated a character as much as I abhore that creature. Petrice was a vile, petty, and cruel woman. My only regret was that I wasn't the one to kill her. I cheered when that Qunari shot her.

I admit to a certain vicarious pleasure seeing her die.  That woman was a pain in my ass.

She is also a nasty stain in the gallows in the majority of my playthroughs :P

Sure, but how high do you think the sedition rate among the most elite Ben Hassrath agents is?

I wouldn't just hand it over to Orlais with no strings attached, sure. But that doesn't mean I would rather throw it away. That was a priceless military asset that could have undone generations of Qunari infiltration and given us massive edge for when the Qunari start the sequel. And little miss Mary Sue gets to traipse away with it while my Hawke stands by, doing nothing.

Not cool, Bioware. Not cool.

And yet she saw the there can be no peace with Qunari, there cannot be a peace.

Their very ideology is a cancer, they are never going to stop trying to warp everything to their design.

Disagree with her morals, her characters or what have you, but she wasn't wrong.

Merrill did make friends with elves in the Kirkwall Alienage; however, with the influx of Fereldan refugees, the Qunari threat, and the problems between mages and templars, I'm doubtful that Merrill was singled out any more than they did Arianni for their vallaslin. It's likely neither one advertised their religious beliefs to Chantry authorities, and virtually all the elves in the Alienage are Andrastian - a marriage would also have to be performed by a Chantry representative. There are a lot of reasons why one or two Dalish elves (who never announced their religious beliefs) wouldn't be targeted while living among Andrastian elves.

Well, there sure as hell won't be peace if you antagonize the Qunari as she did...

I'm pretty sure the Qunari would've left peacefully if they just got their book back.

She is not an invalid example. She is a Dalish who is allowed to live in a human city. Thus it negates your 'they kill everyone who disagrees with them' argument.

As am I. But, no! It took Isabela 3-4 to tell me what happened, when she could have just told me from the get go lol

There will not be a peace until the Qunari Nation is destroyed or Thedas is converted.

Every Qunari dead or every Thedosian converted or dead.

That is what it will take to end that conflict.

I'll never forgive that woman for killing Saemus Dunmar, an innocent. I don't care if he was "abandoning" the Maker or screwing Ashaad's brains out, he didn't deserve to die at her hands.

Well - let's be fair - the people of Kirkwall couldn't tell if you were a mage AFTER you were done throwing fireballs.

Some tattoos aren't going to throw up any flags.

So what? Petrice provoking them into nearly burning down the city was a better plan to deal with Qunari?

Trust me, you'll get your war soon. It is coming, without a doubt.

Also, she sold Hawke and three of his companions down the river for no reason at all. She literally crafted a plan that was based on the murder of innocent people.

Come on, why is anyone defending her?
