Yeah, I prefer to have discourse and discussion over repeatedly stating my beliefs as fact and ignoring whatever you present to argue it. Which is why I don't respond to posts by people I have learned don't have discussions.
Same here.

Damn near at its apex? That was during Drakon's times. Orlais has been living from that for centuries. In the old times Orlais was content because the territories they lost (Anderfels, Nevarra, Kirkwall, even Ferelden) were conquered lands. However, in the last years Orlais has lost Orlesian territory to Nevarra, plus decades of conflict in Ferelden that in the end
It simply needs to be reminded of the Nation it once was, And Drakon and his child did impressive feats, but remember Florian wasn't the best Emperor Orlais ever had.
He was a weak and feeble ruler, Orlais needs a stronger sort to be it's emperor.
Orlais by his hand lost what you cite it for, and before Florian there were other incompetent weaklings, suckling off the teat of their forebear's success.
The game corrupted what Orlais was once, Gaspard is going to revive it as the Empire it was meant to be, destined to be.
Strong, Decisive, Honorable and above all; The Game will not interfere in what Orlais must do to secure it self.
In his rule, he will accomplish what a thousand Celene's never could.
Because he isn't like her, he isn't going to submit to the whims of the game, he is going to make it submit to his whims.
Her rebellion also failed though didn't it?
Not because of the psychological effects of roasting commoners with demons.
Same here.
I really should just learn to do the same xD
Elves are forbidden from defending themselves against humans in Ferelden.
This reminds me when in TOR an alien slave/companion asks you to treat her better/release her, you could respond with this gem:
"You're an alien, why would i treat you like a person?"
And the thing is that the character sounds genuinely curious, i see most human nobles responding the same way to such a claim when it come to Elves in Dragon age, the idea is so outlandish to them that they will most likely dismiss it outright.

I never said it would be easy. I never said it would be quick. And they don't need to like it, just as you don't need to like it. I'll work towards giving more power to the common people, I'll give the mages and elves their rights back. I'll try to limit the power of the nobles and organizations like the Chantry. But you don't need to do it. And you won't convince me that it's wrong or stupid, so let's just drop it.
There is no need to get defensive, i am genuinely curious, i don't remember calling you stupid, i was debating with you that's all.
If you don't want to debate with me that's fine.

Pretty much, giving the Elves rights will be a LONG and PAINFUL process.
Spoiler

Lightside Sith Warrior was fun. Humiliating my enemies was much for fun than killing them.

Ah, I know it had something to do with Gaspard. You just want the Grand Duke to conquer Thedas
Awesome character in TME, by the way. Looking forward to seeing him in DA:I, although I'm not sure I'd want him on the throne.

Well done Z well done, that was one more Sith like response in the game...aliens they never learn do they?
My alien Sith Inquisitor became a member of the Dark Council.
But there can obviously never be a reasonable middle ground, diplomacy or peace. The world must be black and white because using our brains to come up with a stable longtime solution is hard.
I guess since using our brains is hard there can be only one right way to run things which is keeping the status quo. Apparently wanting things to change for the better and wanting peace and diplomatic resolutions is crazy and impossible in a fictional game based in a fictional world with 40 different endings...

Sorry, my bad. People tend to get irrational when you try to debate these things. For them it's dictatorship or you're an idiot. As I said, reformation. It's as simple as that. I'll be a champion of the minorities, if I can help mages/elves/common folk then I'll do it. But it's hard to say exactly how that will happen because a demon invasion tend to shake things up a bit.

Oh Tevinter Rose, I wish I could give you all my likes!

I never got the point of not embracing the Darkside, A Light side sith is an insult to the Empire.
Mercy, Compassion, it is erosion.
Hell, You can argue for love, given it leads to lust, attachment and all these other "positives" to fuel power, but...Mercy.
There isn't a positive for that, not to a Sith.
Beyond, that the "end" of the SW story basically calls for a Darkside Execution.

Aw, thank you

Sure you can want it but it doesn't make it more probable or realistic in light of human history.*real or fictional*

Its fictional game with different world states, I don't understand what's the big deal.

The "big" deal is that; When you cite why a change wouldn't work, you are apparently "not using your brain".

Because you aren't, it's always the same. You want an evil empire and kill everyone who doesn't agree. it's a simple solution. But to me, honestly it's stupid and short term.

I always play Light Side Sith. Can't stand the stupid bullying of the Empire.
Of course, I can't play Light Side Jedi.
The Smug Sense of Superiority chokes me.
So I always play Goody-Goody Sith (Who still kick the ass of Darksiders) and Jedi who don't give a **** about your "rules" and "code" or about "attachment."
Trolling the galaxy eh dragon?
Yup. ![]()

Calling someone an idiot is a sure fire way to kill a conversation, those type people are not really interested in a conversation or a debate they tend to deal in self glorification, and i share your dislike for such practices.

You want to play the reformer and that’s fine, but even if you ignore the nobility and tell them to just suck it up, which i don’t see working out well, and i don’t imagine they will just sit there and let tear down their entire way of life, you still have to with an uneducated/ignorant public that has no concept of liberty, rights, democracy etc.
Even more so liberating the peasantry most likely won’t improve the lot of the minorities like the elves, mages, dwarves. After all why would the human peasantry care for the welfare of non-humans, when all it takes for them to hate another human is for him to be from another nation.
Come to think of it, how do you rationalize your character having these bizarre (in Theads at least) ideals?
