So as most of you already know multiplayer has been confirmed for DA:I!!!

I for one am absolutely thrilled with this news... However I was surprised of the style of it. Mass Effect 3's co-op survival was really addictive and successful. I often thought that DA:I could adopt that really well! do you guys think that a survival based mode will be added in the future?

Holding out against wave after wave of all kinds of different enemy's!

Thanks for your time!

p.s: sorry for the state of this thread I was in a rush and on my phone :(

I think multiplayer is a great addition to the game since it adds more replay value to the game.

I'm sure different modes would be added either through DLC or at release since they haven't revealed too much information regarding multiplayer.

It sounds like the exact same style of game mode, except your aim isn't to survive to a time deadline but clear a map.

I'm excited...its the main information I was waiting for.  I am less than impressed by the fact they waited so long to say anything about it.....In my mind that tells me they don't really care much about it and aren't very pleased/excited with it and just announced it as release day came close.

That said I think its going to be great cuz they killed it with ME3's MP so I'm pumped to check it out as I primarily play MP games and im sure my MP will be almost maxxed before I even touch the SP.

ALSO I think some of the "additonal content to be announced later" on the pre order and guide DLC can be revealed now as it is MP content.

I think Bioware learnt their lesson with ME3 and made a good decision not to have MP affect Single player in any way. This shows that they're listening to fans! and I have no doubt that MP will be amazing! its a good thing that they have pretty much copied ME3's layout and not gone their own way as it could destroy the whole thing.

I like the direction they are going with this trip into the multiplayer world, but I have just one question:

Will one of the Character DLCs allow us to play as a Mabari? This is a most urgent question (and probably won't happen. ;-; )

Like the look of multiplayer, especially the rather expansive size of map Bioware appear to be going for. The diversity of customization looks great as well

I do wonder if we can customize the characters themselves though.

Didn't they already confirm this is the only mode?

It's already been said we cannot customize the characters themselves. They are pre-designed, with established characterization and banters. Think of them as mini companions.

As far as the game mode, it isn't the type of co-op I most wanted, but after seeing the announcement and the enthusiasm of my friends, I'm excited to play with them. I'd rather see this mode be refined and expanded upon, assuming it's implemented well.

Hopefully more multiplayer modes will be releases as free DLC's in the future, but what really makes me worried is what will happen to the co-op multiplayer in DA:I and multiplayer in Mass Effect 3 when/if Electronic Arts go bankrupt, decide to shut down support for the games. The moment the "external EA servers" won't run ALL multiplayer aspects of DA:I and ME3 will cease to function...

You can customise your online characters in terms of colours, armor and weapons. However you cannot change the actual person

for example if you unlock a Human warrior you can only customise what He/She wields.

And yes this whole EA server thing is very concerning, Bioware needs to address this ASAP

The think the problem with having the survival mode is that it might be too much of a clone of ME3's version. This multiplayer doesn't seem to be about waves after waves of enemies. They could have a variation of survival where as they proceed through the level, enemies scale up until they're insanely difficult and you're party dies. That would involve creating some endlessly generating area, probably too difficult.

What's great about this dungeon crawling system is the opportunity for different kinds of modes not seen in the ME3 and wouldn't have worked in ME3

Sadly I don't think Bioware/EA will address the "server dependency". Please never forget that *what* forced EA to address the Sim City 2013 "always online fiasco scandal lie" was when a "hacker" made a emulation bypass that proved how "little" the EA servers where used to "run" Sim City 2013. As a response down the road the EA PR division had to come up with some sort of "half-baked sell-able lie" to cover their INITIAL LIE, and thus they released a OFFLINE MODE for Sim City 2013, however, do note that the Sim City 2013 "offline emulator" at this stage already was quite operational "for general use".

Depending on the popularity of DA:I we might see a response in the form of a co-op multiplayer emulator just like with Sim City 2013... but that EA willingly will offer a sollution that bypass their "micro transaction" online CHEAT system for players that are willing pay REAL CASH for legitimate cheating... well, dream on!

Yep, you go to them not them come to you but the same 4 player coop with predefined classes and 3 enemy races.

I hope that there will be, from the outset, some mission variation because if all it is is murder everything from point A to point B that might get old.

The problem is that it's murdering mooks (from what I understanding - I haven't played ME3 MP). If Bioware made MP centered on taking down bosses - basically an MP version of Shadows of (the?) Colossus I think it would make for a better game.

I just wonder how Bioware plans to make money from people who are not going to spend real money on fake money. Buying heroes like Heroes of the Storm maybe, or customisable appearances?

They need to make some sort of money from it to maintain the servers XD.

Bioware seems to have enough people spending real money on fake things if ME3 is any indication.

My impressions from what I've read up on DAMP is it's sort of like playing Gauntlet with friends, but with Dragon Age's character classes and controls (though they may be scaled back a bit to suit).

I'm a Gauntlet fan, so a MP mode to add onto the single-player story in that style will suit me fine.

I just hope the MP mode is supported, because some people will get bored of eight classes pretty quickly.
