I'd hate to live in a world where this fraud's standard of media became the norm. It's funny she uses the city elf origin because I honestly don't think we'd ever see something like that in DA3, largely because of her and people that share her sensibilities.

The City Elf female is a badass. To me, it reminded me of Kill Bill. A movie full of badass women.
That she got beaten at first is beside the point. It has nothing to do with misogyny or taking pleasure in her pain. That's typical of any revenge story. Male or female. They get beat, and then get back up. This is almost every Clint Eastwood movie ever.

Jerks are jerks and it would just be something related related to being a man or some non-gendered insult instead.
Anyway stop trying to derail it into "everyone disagrees with her because she is a she" based on a few fools. There are valid criticisms of her work but people like you are the problem because when ever it comes up you don't want to counter them with honest arguments but instead just want to throw the shield of misogyny up.

those two comments were for nothing more than cheap laughs and the posts with relevance are to be found elsewhere
and in general no it doesnt matter if she is a man or a woman what matters is her opinion, if a guy said "its a bad thing to call female shepard "femshep"" you can bet id be calling him stupid as well

You are correct that people will attack her verbally just for being a woman. It isn't that average people would just look at a woman and start spewing hate- it's that she's doing her job poorly plus she's a woman and she's offending a lot of people while doing it.
I agree with you that criticism needs to occur- but I'd argue that presentation of said criticism will always set off a firestorm of hate if it comes off as ill informed (which is easy to occur if you have NOT played a game and you're just literally cherry picking scenes from let's play youtube vids FFS). This is akin to saying you read reviews of books so therefore have read the book and you protest X, Y and Z about the book. Orly? How about you READ THE BOOK or PLAY the video game and then come to the table with some logical arguments to defend your position rather than this schlock. It irritates me that she's doing this because she has a few valid points but she is entirely polarizing as a persona. We need a fem Shep to talk about this to the gaming peoples!

She isn't out there to actually *do* something to some alleged problem or another. She is bitching. And make max amount of cash while/by doing it I wager. It does not earn money or enable more loud bitching to actually *help* the women that apparently are greatly suffering in and among Western pop culture.

Exactly. Which is why I have an issue with her not being a gamer. A gamer would have more investment in this field and criticize in order to make change. They would actually care. An outsider doesn't care. They'll just criticize, and then leave things hanging in a state of disrepair.

It's all about the cash for her but she and others like her are driving a wedge between the gamers and the industry, ie: journos, devs and publishers. It depresses me to see how many of the professionals either take her side or stay silent about her BS. I want the 90s back when we just played games and didn't worry about this crap.
The industry is still an industry. How much money do you think the gaming industry would make if it were domintated by the same flat-footed disingenous homilies spun by Saarkesian and the opportunistic leeches she's created? I get where you're coming from, but you've got to realize that if it makes money it isn't safe. Everyone wants a piece of the pie. You've got people like this on Fox, MSNBC, CNN, Mtv, BET, youtube, and every other niche media outlet that brings in the cash. It was only a matter of time before video games were polluted by it too.
If anyone's seen RoboCop 2014 she's a feminist version of Pat Novak (Samuel L. Jackson). She's a caricature. A freaking joke. The sad thing is she's trivializing the message she's exploiting to fill her pockets and pay her bills.
I don't dislike Anita because she's a woman or a feminist. I dislike her because more often than not in her videos, she cherry picks, misrepresents, and takes so many scenes of context to a prove a point, so much so that she does such a disservice to the developers of the games and the people that are aligned with her.
I wish her and her "allies" would get this through their head, and stop lumping me and like-minded people that points out legit criticism, with the (vocal minority) degenerates who attack her for other reasons.
Wow. It appears that most of the conversation here is more interested in dismissing her as a 'fake gamer' and attacking her as a woman.
This thread shows EXACTLY why conversation like Anita's is necessary in the games industry.
Yes we need more people who admit to not being familiar with the medium taking talking points out of context, remove the other side of the story, handle criticism as well as the North Korean government, and plagiarize other LP's in order to keep getting money
