Title says it all. I hate that Hack with the burning passion of a thousand fiery suns.

It's utterly ridiculous when you're being staggered by Primes, pushed by Banshees, and pot-shotted by who knows what else.

I suggest taking cover during that hack

And while it can be problematic, center hack on London or Goddess blows it out of the water

you just need 1 teammate to cut off a spawn point if you are having trouble.

so in that situation its actually good to have 1 player not in the hack, well 1 player with a brain that stays put and not running the map.

either have them go to the landing pad side or that control room, personal preference really.

if you do it yourself, try to let the team know why you are leaving the hack or not getting in it at all.

reason why they might not realize its a strategy.

If you're playing that map, 9 times out of 10, its a pug.

That's why it's a crappy hack. Every man for himself!!!

You think that's worse, try the London middle hack. At least on Giant, you have some cover.

Rio middle hack, Hydra hack in occasional spawn corner, Reactor hack in the reactor core, White hack in the upper center or on lower part where enemies can target you from all directions, Glacier hacks, Jade hack in the downstairs room, Vancouver hack in the small room with stretchers, Goddess hack in lower bottom where water and beams are, and Condor hack down where enemies have terrain advantage on you.

All Hacks are F'ing terrible!

For Giant, that hack is pretty bad. Probably the worst objective on that map, apart from a select few device locations.

Compared to other maps? Not even close. There are tons of others that are harder than that, too numerous to list.

Edit: If the game really has been going that well, then surely you have some missiles left? Just nuke stuff when it gets inside the hack.

I try to do this to make the best of a bad situation:

you just need 1 teammate to cut off a spawn point if you are having trouble.

It's not so bad. There are plenty of worse places to have to hold. Trust me.

OP may consider trying center hack on London or Goddess (Plat wave 10), it's just brutal.

How about the notorious hack on Condor with pugs? Do you know which one I'm talking about?

All of these pale in comparison to the center Jade device. No cover, no hiding, just straight up annihilation from 9/10ths of the map.

Yeah, gotta' go with London\/Goddess centre hack on Gold or Plat being worse.

I quit matches on Condor before they start. :-) And agree that the center Device on Jade is stupidly difficult.

But you're right; there are much worse places than Giant. I was just so frustrated last night that I had to share.

I think it's Wave 10 Hacks in general that I hate!

I don't mind hacks. As long as I'm able to shoot and headbutt stuff, I'm a happy Krogan. Devices, on the other hand, force you to behave cowardly and transform yourself into a sitting duck. The idea alone makes me want to puke.

Characters with pets or Decoy should totally be able to use the pet/Decoy to do the Device while they themselves continue to run around killing things.

Bioware, make it happen in ME4! :D

I like hacking the hacks while hacking.

Odd off topic, mildly related. We had an escort on Hydra the other night which apparently I believed to be a hack on the Lshaped corner pipe. They should make evolving objectives on the next game. Hacks turn into escort once you're completely surrounded, devices turn into targets preferably instakill ones mid disable.

Of all the objectives I somehow favor the hacks the most. But there's a lot more trouble on London, Goddes, and Condor than on Giant.

If you get the middle hack, it's good to have Juggs on the team or anyone actually that pulls aggro from the LZ side spawns.

Yeah this is probably the hardest objective for a team on Giant.  And that says a lot about objectives on Giant in team games.

The hardest thing on Giant is to prevent teammates from missiling spawns on Wave 10, especially if it's an Escort. OMFG, I swear, they're so hard to not help.

I think the Prothean relic is like that, a device that turns into a pizza. It's in coalesced but its frequency is set to zero by default.

You know what I think is the biggest problem not only with hacks but generally in pugs?

It's the fact that in most cases all the players frequently get focused on one thing totally forgetting about the flanks. Everybody is shooting in the same direction, and then you all suddenly lose SG and realize there's a whole regiment of hunters behind you.

I usually have the most fun matches when pugs sort of devide in half. You know just spontaneously a biotic goes after the fury and the Volus decides to help a slow Destroyer. And it's great when you understand eachother just by paying attention, and then you can feel the control without pressure.

It's playable and it's not bad at all, interesting but can be a bit more time consuming than the other objectives.
It's a 3 devices/pizzas kind of objective where you first need to "bake" the pizza in order to carry it to a designated point. It takes roughly 5-6 seconds to digg it out and drop zone stays the same for all 3 devices.
