I'm still neutral on this topic at the moment, sure ME3MP is a success, but co-op shooter is a safe bet, look at those co-op shooters on the market: Borderlands, L4D, Killing Floor, Payday, CoD Zombies...etc, they are SO popular and people just cannot have enough of them, you can hardly go wrong with this genre.
But a co-op sword and magic game? Smells like another MMO to me.
Based on what I know about the ME3 MP, and what I have seen and read about DA:I MP, I would like someone to explain to me why and how this addition affects the single player campaign negatively.
Do the devs have to design a new game engine? New models? New gameplay mechanics? Write a new story? Create new items? New maps? New visual and audio effects? And so on - to add a MP experience? If the answer is NO the effect it has on the rest of the game (ergo SP) is negligible.
The publishers are indeed the ones who are in control, and - with the promise of addition revenue through micro-transactions - are much more likely to increase the overall budget of the game, which consequently is going to improve all the shared features of the game.
I never said it did. In fact...
Bioware/EA are big enough that I don't believe they need to compromise SP to include MP.
ME3 MP has given me 1300 hour of entertainment for free and I have made many good friends along the way.
Take away the Mass Effect theme and replace it with a bunch of random space marines and you're left with a buggy, glitchy mess that I would not have wasted 10 hours on. Sorry.
Maybe keep reading next time instead of basing a rant on the first 2 1/2 lines of a fairly lengthy post.

What ****** witchcraft is it that makes the ending have any association with multiplayer? That's a writing issue, I doubt they consulted Mac Walters to work on multiplayer plot lines.

It must be easy to feel like you're always right when you confront any contrary evidence with "They're lying! I'll only believe people who say things that support me, regardless of how much less reliable the source is!"
But my anger over that extends well beyond the realm of idiotic gamers using every implement at their disposal to make their butts hurt more.
You're right, this goes way beyond gaming and is one of the huge problems in society today imo. There's plenty of irrational butt hurt going around, and plenty of people online and elsewhere willing to grant legitimacy to said butt hurt.

I think this can actually be broken down mathematically.
r = s^f / e
where:
r = reliability of source
s = how much source supports my position
f = how strongly I feel about the topic
e = number of actual experts who agree with my position (The fewer who agree the better! It's a conspiracy!)
