If this is the wrong section , please feel free to move it .

So my question is simple : Is it true we can do more then just run in the game ? They said we could jump and such .

Can someone clear it up for me ? What can we do so far from what they revealed ?

Another thing that has been nagging me since I saw the gameplay vid with rain . I want to know , since it wasn't really obvious but :

1- Does the world we will be in have the 4 seasons?

2- Does the rain effect your NPC? Do they look like they are under the rain..hair wet and all ?

3- Will we be able to swim ? gather plant and such? can you destroy stuff like say a tree ? (lol I know why a tree , it probably be static) .

In divinity rain heavily(and other elementals) heavily affect the enviroment. Rain makes firespells weak, makes electricity spells more effective,e.t.c. I hope there is something similar in dragon age

Pretty sure jumping is in as I have seen thread titles in that regard.   Doubtful on the seasons.   I am sure that characters will appear somewhat wet in the rain as adding in a specular graph to a texture is easy enough, though don't expect them to have hair that looks like they just got out of the shower.

Gathering plants is almost a guarantee, swimming is doubtful and there is going to be some destructible scenery which the Frostbite engine supposedly does well, though I couldn't tell you what exactly might be included.

It seems like they'll be having time be fairly abstract, like it previous games, so I doubt seasons will be observable.

1- Does the world we will be in have the 4 seasons? Rain, lightning, snow, sandstorms we've seen. I don't know specifically if it has all 4 seasons though. No dynamic time cycles. It's static for the region.

2- Does the rain effect your NPC? Do they look like they are under the rain..hair wet and all ? If I recall right it does reflect on them I think. We've seen gameplay videos where mud/heavy water can bog the character down too where they move slow.

3- Will we be able to swim ? gather plant and such? can you destroy stuff like say a tree ? (lol I know why a tree , it probably be static) . We've seen environmental damage. I don't know if you can just randomly destroy any tree you want(probably not). Destruction will probably be in scripted areas. I don't think you can swim. You can gather plants for alchemy and such as you move about the world.

1. I don't think so, but you'll see regions which cover just about every climate...

2. Yes.

3. Swim - no. Gather plants - yes. Destroy tree - unlikely unless it's deliberately crafted to be destructible.

So weather will be depanding on what location you are in ? Does that apply to the system of Day and Night as well ?

Yeah , I played Divinity and I liked their new system .  :D Stopping a fire with a rain spell that was just awesome .

Anyone know what the Inventory system look like ? I hope it isn't like Skyrim , cluttered and that the herbs we collect have informations as what they do and it be easier to navigate between the Potion window and the Inventory where you are hoarding everything .

Thank you all for answering  :)

Jumping is in for sure, one of the movies that have been released show the player jumping. I doubt the seasons though that would be nice and I doubt the rain and snow will be more than an effect in the game for mood.

I hope they have swimming and whether you can do it is dependent upon the amount of armor you wear.   Got fullplate, sink like a rock.

I'm most interested in the 2nd question - the water effects in the ME2 Pragia mission were really neat, especially when you saw rain dripping off your armor when you went under cover.  I hope there's a bit of persistent water/dampness on our characters in DAI if we get wet - can't really tell from the demo vids.
