I've never understood the point of this. I mean I'm sure you meant it as a joke. But you couldn't have just moved on ?  :P

It wasn't a joke.

Humans are the dominant race in Thedas.

Although i do view Dwarves as superior to elves, because they are far more useful to humanity then elves!

And Qunari have no use at all, so they are at the bottom of the totem pole.

@Master Warder Z: But... elven history!?  Elven tradition!

How can you care so little about a dead civilization?

And Qunari gets all the apples at the top of the tree... so, err... that's a use.

Facts

They have a rich culture, a rich lore. Both the Surface and Underground dwarves do. There are plenty of exposition and discussion about them. From nugs to Carta to lyrium smuggling to Merchants Guild to Shaperate to Dwarven Noble Assembly to Golems, we know about them quite a lot.

As for followers, we have had only three so far, Oghren, Varric and Sigrun. Sounds bad but we only have / had two Qunari followers so far, Iron Bull and Sten. Three if you include Tallis. So the claim that Dwarves are not well represented is not exactly fair.

When it comes to romance, we have never had a proper Dwarf romance. We can knock up a few Dwarven noble hunters as the male Dwarf Noble but that's it. By contrast, all the other known races have / had been a romance option.

We went to Dwarven thaigs extensively in Dragon Age Origins, we went to one important one in Dragon Age 2. So in terms of Dwarven places, they are somewhat covered. We have never seen much of Qunari lands or Dalish lands or human lands though that will change with Dragon Age Inquisition.

Conclusion

Dwarves only get the short stick when it comes to romance. This is sad to people who like want that option but it does not make Bioware racists. It only makes them, in this case the writers, not romantically attracted to or into Dwarves enough to write them.

Cheers.  B)

@Ishten:  You seem racist against dwarves. Nobody invited reasonable conversation into this thread.

Come here friend, the Carta has a message for you.  *hides the sack of rabid nugs behind his back*

LOL. I forgot the number one rule in BSN. Thou shalt not use reason and logic.

Apologies, my Carta friend.

I can't remember coming across any greedy merchant dwarves. We get stories about the Merchants' Guild being ruthless, but all of the dwarven merchants our PC's ever come across are just regular salesmen. The only ones that I can recall that were ever greedy or concerned more with money than with the lives of whomever were all human. Hell, the shadiest "merchant" dwarf we can encounter is Rogek, and the only reason he's in business is because of a mage, and he gets us a lot of money back on our investment.

I'm so shocked this thread hasn't been locked already.

I wonder if this pro dwarf movement would have been better served 3 years ago when something could have been done, but then again joke topics are rarely meant to be productive.   :D

That being said.  I have it on good authority that little kids in Canada often kick adults in the knees on a semi-regular basses and there is an old law still on the books that allows them to do so without fear of punishment.  This is the true reason why BioWare hates all things short.  You don't hear about such things outside the country normally, as it discourages tourism.  I expect this post to be deleted as soon as I post it.

@Lee80:  You think this is a joke topic friend?  Come closer, the Carta has a message for you.  *eyes the pit in front of him filled with sharp toothed ravenous rabid nugs*  No friend, just a little closer.

It is an established point in the Lore that Dwarves are the dominant race of Thedas.

* Dwarves worship the Stone.
* Stone breaks scissors, which represent the technical aspect of other races.
* Scissors cut paper, which represents those races which produce Mages.
* Paper wraps Stone... *Woof*... burns in lava, which is used by the Dwarves, cools, and becomes Stone again.
* Repeat.

:lol:

I'm sure this is meant in good fun, but might want to tone down the detailed death threats before you get mod hammered.  Just a thought.  Carry on.

This topic is so dumb, so very dumb. And dwarves being mages? No.

@Lee80:  Wow, really?  LOL

I've been written a death threat in real life before - didn't involve nugs or fantasy crime factions.

Imagine being born underground and having to spend your entire life there. To make it worse you have to constantly fight disgusting, mindless creatures that are a blight for every other living being in Thedas.

That's what it is like to be a Darkspawn. Those poor Drakspawn have to battle those horrible dwarves the entire time and for that they have my sympathy. :P
