Facts
They have a rich culture, a rich lore. Both the Surface and Underground dwarves do. There are plenty of exposition and discussion about them. From nugs to Carta to lyrium smuggling to Merchants Guild to Shaperate to Dwarven Noble Assembly to Golems, we know about them quite a lot.
As for followers, we have had only three so far, Oghren, Varric and Sigrun. Sounds bad but we only have / had two Qunari followers so far, Iron Bull and Sten. Three if you include Tallis. So the claim that Dwarves are not well represented is not exactly fair.
When it comes to romance, we have never had a proper Dwarf romance. We can knock up a few Dwarven noble hunters as the male Dwarf Noble but that's it. By contrast, all the other known races have / had been a romance option.
We went to Dwarven thaigs extensively in Dragon Age Origins, we went to one important one in Dragon Age 2. So in terms of Dwarven places, they are somewhat covered. We have never seen much of Qunari lands or Dalish lands or human lands though that will change with Dragon Age Inquisition.
Conclusion
Dwarves only get the short stick when it comes to romance. This is sad to people who like want that option but it does not make Bioware racists. It only makes them, in this case the writers, not romantically attracted to or into Dwarves enough to write them.
Cheers.
