Instead of making Dragoons the unholy d-bags that they are, what if they had behaved like regular Cerb troopers, but with armor and cover-piercing rounds for their weapons? Would it have achieved the same goal of forcing players out of cover, without making them so annoying?
What if Dragoons had been given drill rounds?

that actually sounds pretty cool so i'd would prefer this way. i don't like how they run around real fast with rubber legs. just never looked right to me.

They should have been given Talons instead of Hornets. Close range gun would have made them hellish up close, less so from range.
Likewise, Guardians should have been given Hornets instead of Talons, allowing them to keep up a steady stream of fire from mid range instead of being so ignorable.
I suspect giving them drill rounds would have created a whole host of unforseen problems.

How is this less annoying? At least now, they have to reach my cover before they smashshoot me through it with their goonwhips and overpowered Hornet MCCCXXIX. I'd rather them not snipe me through walls from across the map with that laser cannon.

I wish they were only melee oriented enemies and had no weapons. Maybe they would have been less annoying.

I think it would have been more in keeping with Cerberus as a mostly cover-based faction. You'd be forced to move to a new position, without having them all up in your s**t.

Dragoons have never really forced me out of cover to any extent. They ****** me off in that they seem invulnerable for a long period of time as they get into whip mode.

The only truly annoying thing about them is the length of their lunge, basically right across the map in one jump.
Dragoon lunge = length of Pyro's flame.

I'll give you the rundown on Cerby troops... they have evolved in many unfortunate ways!
Atlas that shoots Javelin shots!!!!

Shuriken blasting phase durr durr!!!

Javelin Nemesis!
It seems one Engineer got the upgrades!
This Nemesis hates sniping!
Aww... now that's cheating!!!!
And, the Dragoon with a Talon! CHEAT CHEAT!

And off-faction, we have the GI!

The entire Cerberus faction is ****. Even the basic assault trooper is a shitbag, so no. Dragoons would remain d-bags even if they behaved liked regular assault troopers.
What amazes me is how few pugs seem to know that Cerberus is the toughest gold enemy. Recently it's like every pug lobby I land in with a new player as host, they have it pre-set to Cerberus .. hate that ****!
If it's a really low level lobby, then I pull out the GT/flamer and curbstomp me some dragoons/phantoms.

And even if you dodge sideways (if your class dodges at all) they still stagger you.

I don't know about toughest tbh. I still think collectors are the toughest faction.
I just feel the cerberus fight at an artificial difficulty. Launching smoke everywhere while retaining perfect accuracy, being immune to damage and stagger, having stupid DR mechanicsm that makes some guns completely useless, missiles that hit you after you seemingly dodged them, sync kills that are completely unfair to dodgeless characters - all these make me think that Cerberus are actually pretty lame and easy in general, and have to resort to BS tactics to even stand a chance against us players. High DPS, power-blocking enemy attacks and the occasional wall hax by enemies (every faction does that) don't bother me as much as these things.
I just quit cerberus games these days.

Nemesis are pretty harmless, Dragoons easy to dodge, Atlas are slow and easy targets.
Without any doubt Trollrpectors are te hardest faction and Geth are the mst annoying one.

^ I know many people think Collectors are hardest, but wave 10 and 11 Cerberus Gold are ridiculous, IMO the 2 toughest Gold waves hands down.
I admit, the early Cerberus waves are probably the easiest of all the factions (Reapers are pretty easy too TBF).
I find gold pug groups wipe more against Cerberus than any other faction, and it's always 1 or 2 things which does it, the ninja turret in a critical spot, or the phantoms synch killing everyone. I've done more glorified 4 player gold cerberus solos than vs any other faction.

Wave 11 is probably the hardest if you're out of meds. Goons will spawn behind you should you kill too much of them.

Cerberus are the hardest for Gold if you don't have a good way to deal with Phantom/Goon rush. Wave 10 is ridiculous, and Gold Cerb extraction is harder than Platinum Cerb extraction.
Generally though, Collectors are harder because there isn't really a way to cheese them like you can with Cerb. The best you can really do is biotics or snipers.
Edit: I'd also like to add that Collectors are hardest for PS3 players, regardless of kit ![]()

Cerberus is an absolute joke if you carry a Scorpion as a sidearm. No contest.
Edit: Almost forgot...
