So as someone who played the Mass Effect 3 Multiplayer throughout its run, one of the things that was interesting about it was how it inadvertently or intentionally expanded the lore of the series more then the actual single player campaign. Each new race or class we got to play as came with a breif and curt description that help give a deeper insight into said race or faction. It expanded what biotics(magic) and tech(rogue magic) could do and in general, made the races in mass effect feel less like humans-who-look-like-aliens and made them a bit more their own thing through the aesthetic design of weapons and armor made by said races, the unique powers or abilities, and even gave a better insight into the human alliance, cerberus, and the N7's, which was much more informative about them then even the single player campaign was.

You could make the argument that a lot of it was simply devs doing fan service, or making things up as they went along. That's fine and could very well be the motivation behind it. It's effect however helped to give more flavor and detail to the setting, rather then to the main character alone as was the case in mass effect.

Dragon age now has an opportunity to do the same thing, and I look forward and hope that the devs do something with expanding character and weapon selection in multiplayer to give the setting a more fuller feel to it through multiplayer.

Specializations in Dragon Age have always been unimpressive due to the lack of integration into the story. Being a Blood Mage or Templar might as well have been invisible to everyone within the game, and it didn't affect your character's dialogue or anything. Since specializations are being revamped for Inquisition, I'm interested in the specific combinations that are being set up for characters in MP. Hopefully at least some of the banter will reflect your class, such as a mage and Templar sniping at each other, or everyone dogpiling on a Reaver. This will, I think, flesh out these classes a bit more that previously in DA have been more or less gameplay devices.

The whole reason we can't choose the gender for each MP character is because of lore.
