  Hello everyone!...

I can't remember if we had friendly fire in former Dragon Age games, but I would really like to have it in Inquisition. I don't like casting a fire spell over both friends and enemies, and see how a fire storm (e.g.) only damages the enemies while my characters are immune to the flames. In my opinion it snatchs importance to strategy, and simplify the game....

    ....so what do you think?

(This question is for both Single and multi player modes).

Both previous titles in the series did have FF, but I only used it in DAO. It was tied to higher Difficulty, and in DA2, I did not care for the Nightmare option; the Immunities made little sense to me, so I had to skip FF, also.

Personally, I wish FF and/ or Immunities were a separate setting from which to choose apart from Difficulty.

Friendly fire sounds great.

After you hit me with a fireball, I'll just knock you down with my greatsword, chop at you until you are dead, and devour your corpse to regain the HP you took.

It will be 'strategic.'

I'd like to see it make a return in Inquisition on the higher difficulties of SP just like it was in DA:O and 2.

but not multi-player. Friendly fire and multi-player do not mix.

In SP some difficulty levels will have FF.

In MP I am almost certain that there will never be FF.

There was an article from Kotaku a while ago that appeared to suggest that friendly fire would have it's own difficulty slider.

I can't imagine friendly fire being available in multiplayer

Single Player? There should be an option for those who want it.

Multiplayer? Never. Griefers need to be chained to a mountain and have their livers eaten by an eagle.

What if it's by accident though?Like's there a group of enemies nearby and you just happen to get caught up in the blast?I'd hate to be killed because of a honest mistake.

That's not painful enough, their eyes need to be slowly burned, legs crippled, and chests ripped apart. Then the eagle can devour their livers.

You could not shoot another player in ME3MP (though many tried :D )

I would be very surprised to see it in DAMP.

If Bioware is going to hire 40 more people to moderate the forum then by all means it should put friendly fire in DAI mp.

I also doubt there will be freindly fire, but as a result, I suspect to see a significant reduction in AOE abilities for multiplayer.  Maybe "intelligent" effects like Keeper roots, but not fogs or storms.

However, if it were not for the jerkbags inhabiting the internet, I would love to have it.

No, and you only need 1 reason why: Trolls.

Friendly fire in multiplayer? Please no, I can see the trolling now. xP

In single player sure, have the option like the previous games, but I really hope it's like ME3's MP where there's no friendly fire, and the character being shot at says something along the lines of "Hey, knock if off."

Oh as great as this sounds I don't think they will allow FF in MP.  The amount of trolling would be insane. But they will learn the Reaver is supreme!  I wish there was a male version, but I will make do.  I don't really agree with it, but I think they will allow everyone to play the same character if they choose to.  We will have everyone on the team wanting to play the character by the end. Reaver power!

SP I think FF comes along with certain difficulties.  "Hard" and "Nightmare"

What if it was optional and if you had turned on you get extra gold or something.

Hopefully it is either included in Hard this time or is a separate slider. I didn't really like having to go to the highest difficulty level to get FF.

I agree with you. In multi FF would be a total chaos (griefers/trolls everywhere). In single player it should be a must...a least in normal and higher difficulty or as you say it could be a separate choice.

In multi mode they should include some vs modes, but I think they have said it will be just co-op.

Doesn't matter. If what you suggested were true, then, most pug would demand friendly fire be turned on for more rewards but b**** about it when his/her teammates accidently killed him/her.

FF was great in DA:O.   It makes sense with fireballs and the sort of chaotic magic you are throwing around.    It was available in the highest difficulty of DA2, but I didn't use it in that game.    They added in FF for swords and that was plainly just dumb when you have moronic AIs controlling your other companions half the time.

There was one particular scenario where I had one last enemy left with just a sliver of health.   He would have been easily been dispatched by the character he was engaged without any thought in just a few seconds.    Carver comes over and smacks him with his big two handed sword, taking out 3 other party members in the process.   Nope.   FF and auto-attacking melee companions with AI not smart enough to recognize who they are going to hit with each stroke is definitely a bad mix.

So I hope FF for player-activated abilities is in, but not if it also applies to AI controlled attacks unless they somehow made the AI smart enough not to wholesale slaughter your own party.

I think Maria mispelled her last name when making her moniker, Maria Cannibal sounds more like it.

I could think of some useful applications for friendly fire in multiplayer.
