It means that 2 LIs won't romance you if you are a specific race, (yet to be confirmed which). It has been confirmed that Josephine and Iron Bull are not race gated at all, and it's perhaps possible that Sera isn't race gated against dwarves.

It means that you will be screwed if you pick the race that your prospective LI isn't into.

 

Actually, I guess it means you will *not* be screwed, then.

We don't know who is gated against whom. Some LIs may very well be gated against humans.

though he later said this wasn't the case since he doesn't actually know who the race gates are himself since he doesn't work for that part of Bioware, so either he was telling the truth or it was PR talk to cover up his slip

We don't know who is gated against whom. Some LIs may very well be gated against humans.

For example, Bob the LI has a thing against elves. He doesn't like them, so he won't romance an elven Quizzy. But he will romance you if you're a human, a dwarf or a qunari. Meanwhile, Bella the LI only likes men shorter than her, so she won't romance a human or a qunari.

It's been said that there's story reasons behind the gating so it's probably a lot more in depth than that. People have speculated that if Solas is a LI he won't romance a dwarf because he won't be able to share his Fade adventures with them. But we just don't know who's race gated at this point.

yes just my opinion though several agree that humans being the most played race in the DA series might possibly not have any race gates, where dwarfs being the least played might have several you never know

Cassandra to Race Gate Qunari, being of the Chantry i could see her holding to the idea that the Qunari are evil, and foul creatures, even if your Qunari isn't of the Qun.

 

Cullen has had feelings for Humans and Elves in the Origin's Magi background so im thinking it's possible he might not do Qunari either, as he is a firm believer of the Chantry, assuming Dagna went to the circle i wouldn't be surprised if he had the hots for her too. lol.

I don't think bigotry will be the justification for race-gating.

If that's their reason then we will have to deal with it, I really don't think they can come up with a good enough reason that no one at all won't question.
