A character who really focuses on DoT, if there isn't one already.

I'm not sure what class it would be but...how awesome would it be to have a Grey Warden?

I wouldn't be surprised if they added a whole set of them at some point, much like when they added the N7s to ME3.

I do enjoy playing DoT characters, but I have a feeling that they would need at least one quicker acting attack to be very viable, otherwise they would simply shine against bosses, and be crap against mooks, and i image you will be spending more time fighting through mobs than taking on bosses. Hmm, unless the DoT also applied some kind of combo priming effect on weaker enemies.

I've been thinking about this... and trying to get a discussion started in an existing thread. Thank you for quickstarting it (or is kickstarting? O_o).
Anyways... yeah. The fights seem a little too fast for a DoT-based character. The most dynamic class in FFXIV was Arcanist, which was focused on DoT. I loved it. From what I perceive, the essence of DoT is not necessarily on fighting bosses, but rather on engaging multiple enemies, one after the other, instead of nuking one by one or using AoEs. Then, if the DoT is powerful enough, it should compensate for not nuking the enemies. When you nuke, you end up taking less damage... so, to compensate for that, the DoT would have to allow you to kill the whole group of enemies much faster, then killing all, by nuking.
Considering the speed of the fights, I'm thinking focusig on DoT upgrades probably won't be very viable. Although in late game there may be cases of groups of tougher enemies, who last long even if you're in high level yourself. Then, if the DoT daage is high enough, it could work, I suppose.

I really liked the design behind Fade Demons - specifically Desire Demons. Maybe some sort of 'reformed' or 'indebted servitude' type of Demon (to justify the lore)? Probably a Mage class?

N7 Classes were some of the most uniquely designed expansion classes so I'd be all for a "Grey Warden" set.

Simple - mabari. With a unique skills like stunt, bite, threaten, summon human/elven/qunari/other allies, buff allies with a bark.

I want a water mage! I don't think I've ever seen one in a game, but it has so much potential: dehydrating and drowning people, walls of water to slow down projectiles, flooding an area to slow down enemies... But anything that claims to be a water mage of some kind always ends up just freezing people solid, or throwing icicles at them.

I'd love a Shapeshifter, personally.

Grey Warden (along with new enemy Darkspawn faction...)(very active shield abilites, no passive guarding abilites)(passives against Darkspawn only)
Dalish Warrior (actually DW rogue, but with very aggressive and warrior-ish abilities)
Dalish Hunter/Craftsman (passive arrow types using traps/lures on arrows)(get a few extra/free potions)
Avvar Barbarian (all about 'detonating' cross-class-combos, ineffective at everything else)
Rivaini Seer (summon and/or possess herself with different spirits, providing wildly differing abilities and attributes)
Antivan mage (very good at resisting physical attacks (assassins))
Nevarran mage (necromancing and 'death' magic)
Provings champion - melee, one or more potion slots taken by crossbow abilites with limited number of bolts (very good at 1v1 fights, and vice versa)
Qunari-specific something or other...

Would probably need something like DA2's Grave Robber spell, or a Sacrifice spell that works on enemies.

I would like to see:
Bard (Rogue)
Force Mage (Mage)
Berserker (Warrior)

Personally i'd love to see some sort of magical rogue. We've had arcane warriors, spirit warriors and templars but no actual magically-induced rogues. Even if it's just something like a Templar Assassin/Templar Archer i'd be happy.
As far as warriors go, i do like the avvar warrior concept. But in the vein of experimentation, i'd give a warrior the ability to dual-wield one-handed swords and make a class around that, using rogue talents with warrior passives or something.
For mages, i love shapeshifters but i've no idea how to make that feasibly work, without it being a LOT more work than any other MP class they make. Blood mage and Force Mage would be cool to see back. Something that would also be interesting is a "merged-possesed" Mage, like Justice-Anders.

I'd be most excited for classes that complicate the general roles for each class. My understanding thus far is that warriors = tanking, rogues = dps, and mages = support (though obviously with some variation). But I'd be most excited for classes that totally break this basic correlation.
I think my favorite idea thus far has been a Bard, a rogue that can fulfill the "support" role, buffing/shielding allies and mass cc'ing enemies.

Awoken Darkspawn will eventually make an appearance...Mark my words! It doesn't matter if we wiped out the
CollectorsAwoken, they're coming back!
On a semi-serious note, I'd like to see Ash Warrior with their own Mabari Companion.
This is coming people. Bother Bioware enough and they do stuff.
"I want to romance this person as a guy/girl"
"That doesn't make any sense..."
"But I WANNA"
"Okay. Everything is bisexual now"
"It sucks, now I want playable Collectors, EDI and Female Turian"
"But....F*ck it"
