Well as long as they aren't invulnerable then please add them, yes looking at you Skyrim because apparently as far a Bethesda goes paper covers rock, dragon burns paper and kids beat dragon fire, yay logic! <_< . So as long as they can potentially die then yes add away.

Kids in Fallout 2 picked your pocket every time you walked past them. That was the only time I was tempted to kill kids in a game, since you couldn't stop them and they were right next to doorways.

But I want kids in DA:I, with childlike voices.

I hated those brats, i hated them so much in fact that i armed a bomb and then had them pickpocket it it....BOOM! Profit. B)

Oohh the Annulment, I had not considered that! Even more reason to fight to save the mages. I always felt that the world's seem sterile. Heck, a good portion of those that play these are kids. Skyrims's immortal children was totally... childish. Death exists, especially in a game where the sole objective revolves around killing...and stealing souls. It makes more sense for Dragon Age to not have us kill kids as we do not kill NPCs (even the rude/annoying ones :P)

GTA allows running over kids?  I seen GTA, they were adults, no kids, less I missed them. GTA, Infamous Son, Saints Row series specifically have only adults.

God Child might be in it, if you went that way of-course.

Wait, you actually do get to kill her if you follow Ralof.  She's one of the first Imperials you meet after you grab that guy Gunjar's equipment... she has the key that unlocks the rest of the fortress.  I always follow Ralof so I can kill her, no matter what faction I join later.  :P

Speaking of which, if there are child NPCs in DA:I, I hope they are not annoying like the ones in Skyrim.  Those kids would just walk up and insult you for no reason... the darn brats.

IMO better annoying children who look and sound like children than shrunken down adult bodies with creepy large eyes applied (like SWtOR)

Yeah, they do look kind of strange in that game... But on the other hand, the kids in Skyrim were often clones of one another.  I don't know which is more unsettling tbh.

Bioware did a good job with the child models in DA:O... I don't really remember them looking identical or abnormal in any way.  They looked odd in DA2, but so did a lot of adults, so I won't hold it against them.  I've never seen children in the Frostbite engine, but it has some amazing graphics, so if there are children in DA:I, I expect them to look great and a lot less generic than in some games... at least, the ones involved in quests probably will.  Unique faces for kids running around the village probably aren't that important...

Hello everyone. Let's avoid the "killing npc children" debate so we can let this thread stay open. Thank you.

This "child" is supposed to be like 8 years old and comes up to the player's waist so creepy *shudder*

Then there's this little gem from the end of ME3

Children are not just scaled down adults BioWare, these tactics are super creepy.

@ Nefla - ROFL... that's clearly a small man in the ME3 picture... xD

Uh, and actually, that girl is a bit... um... mature for her age.

Let's hope Bioware follows the DA:O model for all future kids.  They were perfect in that game.

It would be neat to see a Qunari pre/teenager, just to see how tall they are that age.

From Biowares' past history they give their teenagers the same body type as adults. For example, the "child" you go search for in SWTOR during the starting quests on Tython.

Based upon the responses here, I wonder if the developers would want to develop children? Some people then start to heavily question the quality of the children if they are implemented. Kids are like foliage, they are not necessary but add a lot of atmosphere...even if we do not interact with them. Skyrim may have had limited amounts of child models, but it really did make the world feel like a world. How many of you played Tag with those kids that requested it of you??? :) I'm sure some of you tried it more than once :)

Even if the models aren't perfect, I still think they add depth. I was Highly motivated to slay a dragon when I thought it was going to harm one of the kids, in Skyrim. That's how I found out they were immortal lol. Dashed my inner hero expectations!

Studio Ghibli. Bioware could make a game where a child is the main character.

Is that one a child?  Looked like a shrunken adult to me. Which is probably what your point was due to previous post.  :)

Both are shrunken down adults. They even gave the girl plucked eyebrows and eye liner in addition to having an adult body >_<

*raises hand*  Even a hardened adventurer needs to relax now and then.  Although I cheated at hide and seek by using Invisibility... :wizard:

I usually avoided the Skyrim kids though, since almost all of them are brats (the ones you can adopt actually have some manners, thankfully...).  Even one of the kids in Solitude that you can play tag with insults you every time you enter his mother's shop, so I stopped hanging out with him...  :(

3 words "Old...God...Baby..." I sure hope Urthemial Reborn isn't a scaled down adult, that would be creepy.

...and there's no way a child with the soul of an old god, corrupted and cleansed, raised by Morrigan would be creepy.

I'm ok with having children as NPC's in DA:I.

I just hope we can ro [REDACTED] them.

That would be so sweet.

I thought the kids added so much atmosphere and life in Skyrim and DA:O. Mass Effect felt so dead without them and games with scaled down adults are just yikes.
