So what you all seem to be implying is that the spoiler is true?
I thought there were different endings and if you wanted to save all your friends that are squad mates you could?

No, there was more than what was just obviously up there.  More than just the thing about the other thing really being something else.

The spoiler I read today was absolutely devastating for me, I literally cried and am still aching from depression.

I for one will not be playing Mass Effect 2 now as a result of this spoiler. For those of you who can look past this, good for you but the plot was this game's most appealing aspect and it's now ruined.

Like the OP said, people who visit these forums expect a safe environment.

The spamming of the message board could've easily been prevented with flood control and it shouldn't have taken 2-3 hours for a moderator to respond to the responses.

Really, posting a picture of the game dosn't prove you have it. He could have scrounged it up from somewhere else on the internet. Even if he did have it, the odds of anything he says being true are at highest the same as the odds of everything being false.

As for an apology from Bioware, I don't really think we're owed that. The only way to completely keep out trolls is to censor each and every single post (which would cause a host of other problems), and you can't really expect them to spend all day every day checking the forums. Just like us, they have lives and things to do.

Edit: About flood control, I really don't think him having to wait, say, 30 seconds before making a new post would have made a difference.

Wow, some people are a little overly sensitive. I love ME as much as the next guy, but to the whiners I say get a life. It's not the end of the world.

By the way, there's this other space universe where the main character, let's call him.. um, Luke has a "sword" fight with the bad guy, let's call him Darth... And guess what happens? Darth turns out to be Luke's father!!!! OMG!!! Hope I didn't just ruin your life!.

I am annoyed with the trolling but what are you going to expect on the internet, three days before the game is released?

Also I laughed at your title of your topic, sounds like a bloody terroist attack.

Get Over It

"alleged spoilers" aside...I gotta aree with this isnt my name...It's fine to be a "little" upset over something like this but to java and anyone else blowing this way out of proportion, you need to get a life outside of your house if you're going to let something like this make you THAT angry.

You sir, need to get a bloody life if you're letting this get to you to the point of not even playing the game.  If that's the case, you didnt deserve to play it to begin with lol.

I was at a wedding all day, so fortunately my ignorance was spared. Though seriously, what happened? Did some guy just post a plot synopsis or something?

Don't get me wrong, I am still going to play the hell out of Mass Effect 2. However I just feel like something like this could have been prevented. And yes, it does ****** me off.

Even so, those that are crying over it...(some literally which is hilarious)...need to build a frackin bridge and get over it.  TRUE fans of the game will play it regardless of what is true and what isnt.

This and think you would have found out anyway, so what after ME2, still play it. Unless you live in Wales so I can get your CE. But dont you people realise there is still ME3 to go and now you have learned to avoid forums for when the big spoilers come out, I would rather ME2 spoiled than the ending of the story arc.

While I agree that is overeacting, it isn't really fair to judge whether someone deserves to play a game or has a life based soley on something such as being depressed over spoilers.

Some ass (Donkey...) spammed, and I mean SPAMMED the forum with major plot spoilers. I mean posting in random topics..and eventually filling the forum with threads tittled with spoilers.

Precisely, people are failing to look at the big picture here...Is This and myself the ONLY ones here thinking about this? lol.

Bah. Even if they were spoilers, so what? ME isn't just one linear storyline. I really couldn't care about how it ended. I've had a ton of series spoiled for me, so I'm used to it.

And to everyone that was whining: No offense or anything, but why act in such an immature manner? It's a game. It's not the end of the world. You guys are acting like this is the first time anyone has spoiled something for you. And you're overreacting to a small flood. These boards are really tame compared to some places I've been to.

The only way I can get over it is if I forget it.  I can't and that is why this game is no longer of any interest to me.

You may think it's sad, maybe it is but games like Mass Effect are what I live for.  I don't have an exciting, fun life.  The escapism of gaming is the only thing that motivates me to keep living.  Mass Effect 2 was the holy grail of games for me and it has been forever tainted.
I can never forgive what happened.

I second what the Original Poster said.

Bioware owes us an apology for what happened. This website was flooded with spoilers for hours before any response was taken.

They really don't. Browsing and interacting with these boards is not a right, it's a privelege. Nothing was promised to you.

It is unfortunate what happened, but Bioware have lives too. They can't play supercop all the time.

So stop.

And my business as well as the many others who were dissapointed with the lack of a brief response to this catastrophe is not Bioware's right either.

Having a moderator on at all times is easy, many websites do it and Bioware has no excuse.

Wow, that is quite jerkish. Why do people do this sort of thing? At least Hitler had something resembling a motive.
