Looks nice but I'm kinda worried about the Awakening part

Originally you can save both the Keep and the Amarenthine, but here we can see only two choices

You never really save the Keep. On a perfect play through it sort of endures the siege but characters die, which I actually think this codes.

You can't. The best you can do is save Amaranthine and fully upgrade the Keep. The slide reveals that the keep eventually falls after days of continuous attack.

I wonder if the fact that your custom faces show up when selecting Warden/Hawke mean anything. I know they've said we can customize Hawke's appearance but will it do some sort of auto-translate to the CC once you upload the Keep file or is it unrelated?

I know the "good" outcome is to save Amaranthine and have a fully upgraded Keep (that technically still falls), but man, saving the Keep is way more fun.

Some characters die, like Sigrun and maybe Anders but the Keep stands

In the Awakening we could upgrade it diffirently changing the outcome of the battle

In this video we see now sight of notice of these upgrades and it's upsetting

First I have seen of the Keep.   Looks good!   Kind of makes me wonder which, if any, characters and such had been uploaded.   I must have come close to about 17 playthroughs of DA:O and I am pretty sure its stopped uploading things eventually.

I did speculate that our previous characters were going to be synced. Good that they went that way

Ah, it looks so pretty  :)

Looks like I'll need to go poke my saves and see what ones I can get uploaded. I think the three wardens I want to use are there (or mostly there) but most of my Hawke's are missing or only uploaded at level 5 and never updated.

Have they still got only five world states? >.> I will probably spend more time on this than the actual game

The keep doesn't really stand if you fully upgraded it. It is destroyed and rebuilt though. Also your soldiers are remembered if you upgrade their armour to silverite.

I'm pretty sure it stands if it's fully upgraded. I might need to check with my warden who abandoned the most prepared keep, but, I'm pretty sure it stands.

But none of the characters left in the Keep die. And the Keep stands, becomes the important part of Amaranthine, defenders becomes the most elite fighting force in Farelden etc. I finished the playthrough like that like 3 days ago.

Anyway, I was very sceptical towards the idea of the Keep, but after watching this I must say I'm impressed. I realize now why they wanted to went through with that idea, and it's clear that a lot of work was put into it.

I'm seriously hoping that the art team is bringing home the big bucks, because those guys and girls have some serious talent.

Loving the Keep. I'm incredibly pumped to play around with it for myself.

It's not like that video showed every possible choice or combination of choices, as well as other minor permutations. Could very well be the choice for defending Amaranthine will also include a side one of doing so with an upgraded Keep.

The characters being alive or dead is presumably a different option in the Keep. And Vigil doesn't stand if you upgraded it. Almost everyone left at the Keep dies. There are "few" survivors. It takes "five years" to restore it to glory.

Bioware clearly isn't going to reference this ending with the degree of specificity that some people would like but at a high level there is no need for three options.

I noticed that there was no option if Avenus was allowed to continue his research ethically or not, just if he lived, died, or was never encountered.

The Keep is still being developed so some options may be around in the final product.

But what is in there is very impressive.

I don't know having a massive keep that houses the wardens in Ferelden is pretty important. The Keep would be long since repaired if you had upgraded it come DA:I so I do believe it matters.

Personally, it might assume that the Keep was fully upgraded regardless if you save it or the city. I mean, who didn't do that when they first played Awakening?

So if you choose to save the city, the Keep gets beaten badly but people honor its sacrifice and its rebuilt by the time Inquisition starts. The Grey Wardens might have a weaker presence but they have the goodwill of the people.

If you save the Keep, the city gets rebuilt and the Grey Wardens have a stronger presence but people are still bitter about their city getting torched.

Did the Keep's survival depend on whether you spared the Architect or not?     I spared him, defended Amaranthine and my fully upgraded Keep also survived.   The end slides definitely said that after many days it was the army of darkspawn that broke, not the Keep, even though many people died in its defence.

Looks amazing. I'm glad we can upload saved games. I will still mess with the world state until I can get it just t he way I want it.
