I believe it's been confirmed already that the story mode movie will only go over the major decisions.

Because if it went through ALL the decisions then it would be absurdly long and, quite frankly, very dull.  I know I wouldn't want to listen to Varric ramble on about what the Warden did with Cammen and Gheyna or whether or not she drank Avernus' potion.

Sounds like a lot of work to fill out every choice Warden and Hawke made if they even include Cammen's quest.

You can customize as much or as little as you want. If you're obsessed with detail, you can customize every teeny tiny little bit up to the most irrelevant of decisions. If you don't give a damn whether some Halla lived or not etc, you can customize just the major world-changing decisions you care about, and call it a day. You're not forced to go over everything if you think it's too much work.

Upon first opening this, I thought we were getting a tour of Skyhold.

But the DAKeep's good too.

Sorry if this has been asked, can we rename our previous characters? I didn't take a name seriously and ended up being my main cannon game lol.

Problem is I am obsessed with detail, which is why I complete all those tiny quests.  :P Having to complete a questionnaire about them on top of that.... sigh.

I would like to know this as well. I'm also wondering if there's a possibility to upload a character portrait if said character didn't appear on my character's list on BSN?

I'm a pretty obsessive completionist too, to the point that I will roll back hours of gameplay just to finish a ridiculous tiny fetch quest if I realize or learn that I missed something...

But I also really love filling polls, quizzes, questionnaires and the like? I'm super excited to spend hours fiddling around in the Keep, I can't wait to set every little detail of my different world states. It's gonna take a little work, but it's almost a minigame in itself while the big game doesn't come. ^_^

I don't understand how these people with Keep beta access don't know how to advertise well. I don't want to sit and watch someone talk about it, I would rather see someone just recording themselves USE it, like if they are allowed to show it, show it in Twitch or Youtube stream.

I don't need someone to tell me what the video is about, I clicked on the video because of its title! omg dumb it down why don't you? rageover

Still I would like to see a video of someone just using it normally and not making a video of it. Like you know, just have fraps on as you use the Dragon Age Keep and not read out a script.

Beta testers are still under a non-disclosure agreement, and are not allowed to freely talk about everything inside the Keep, leave alone show everything. The videos that came out this weekend were pre-approved by the developers, so they won't be showing every little detail we want to know.

So say you did a dragon age 2 playthrough with one of the pre-set worlds. Would you be able to alter points within the pre-set DAO world? Or would that be unavailable because the profile for that world doesn't exist?

You will be able to alter any and all points within both storylines regardless of how you played DAO or DA2.

In fact, that's required.  The Keep doesn't recognize any decisions you made in either game while actually playing them.

The Keep doesn't import any choices from DAO or DA2. All it brings through is a basic Warden or Hawke profile that can also be adjusted.

You set everything yourself, in the Keep, regardless of what you did before.

This will need to be done whether your heroes are present on the BSN or not. Having your heroes uploaded will allow you to select them in the Keep, but there is no direct importing of savegame plot data at this time. Choices will need to be set by either using the interactive movie, accepting the defaults, or selecting them yourself in the Tapestry.

Wow, how irritating. This would be good if you only had character, but if you are someone with at least 6 characters in DAO and 6 in DA2, this can become very tedious. I wish you guys had taken the time to implement importing of choices.

They've had difficulty explaining it so far, even in the latest video.

I know the Keep is complex, but with different systems working to import things and change things, I think it'd be good if Bioware found a really simple way to explain what you actually have to do.

(I'm still not sure why there's even the "ISS" movie narrated by Varric if it happens before we actually make any decisions - if things are wrong there, isn't that just going to confuse people further?)

You have to start the interactive movie yourself or you can immediately start with the Tapestry. I don't see this as confusing. And no matter how the Keep works people will get confused, even after all this time people still ask about save importing and downloading world states to USB. And that happens despite there being a very clear FAQ in the news section.

The keep looks amazing, seems to be some confusion in the earlier posts through. Vigils keep survives if you full upgrade it. This is taken from the Epilogue "it will hold for days before the attacking horde broke upon her walls", when an army breaks it retreats.

Its also the only way your companions you left there will survive, if the keep fell they all die (cept Anders and his plot armor).

This is also confirmed in witch hunt, you can mouse over Amaranthine and Vigils keep and they will be both alive and kicking if you fully upgrade.

The keep is simply badly damaged.

This is a nice clarification source on what effect importing a saved Warden/Hawke has on the Keep:

http://forum.bioware...ing/?p=17225810

Basically you still need to select and make all the story choices.

That's probably a good thing too. I just read through the story files of my 9 Wardens. They all say I sacrificed Isolde, but I only did that once. I guess the option of getting the mages from the tower and their lyrium was not recorded. In another case the story had conflicting results, most likely because I reloaded and played something out differently.

Cool, I didn't know that.

Is it possible to run the ISS after setting the major decisions in the Tapestry?

I have a feeling that, no matter how long it takes to go through it thoroughly, I will only be using the Tapestry, if the movie only goes over the major decisions.

I REALLY want to make sure that in each of my three "canon"(?) imports, I can have everything exactly as it was for DA:I, even if a particular small decision isn't acknowledged at all in this game, because it will come up in some small way in the future.

Yes.

The ISS runs when you first log in, and lets you set major choices. Once you're in the tapestry, you should be able to run it again at any time.

If all you care about is major choices, the ISS should be all you need. If you want to tweak every side-plot, you might want to jump right into the Tapestry and edit the world state that way.

So does the intro movie just make a bunch of default guesses that you have the opportunity to change or will it stop to prompt us for the answer each time?

I like what I saw. The video is nice and I like I can pause and go in with some changes. I always enjoyed the little intro Duncan gave before DAO. It helped get me into the game before starting a new game. Same with varic in da2. I think once everyone gets to trying it. I guess in early to mid October there can be wide scale feedback.
