Don't forget Borderlands, although the "powers" in that game are laughable in lack of both quantity and variety.
No, ME3MP will keep full enough until ME4 hits.

I think it will have more of an affect that some of those other mp games. I can for sure see myself basically switching over wholesale.

It will be interesting to watch and I think this will be the acid test for the ME3MP player base. Unlike COD, Dark Souls, Borderlands etc. DAMP is a very different animal because it's essentially a ME3MP clone made by the same company. It's swords and magic instead of guns and space magic, but with presumably better graphics, sound, netcode, etc. There will be a lot of ME3 players like me that will give it a chance based on their positive experience with this game. Having said that my guess is that it may take a few more seconds to find a match (I'm on PC) for a few weeks after release as people satisfy their curiosity, then it will be back to normal. The only thing that can kill ME3MP is ME4MP.

ME3 will live until ME4, where it will begin a slow decline. You'll still be able to find ME3 games for a while after ME4 releases.

I play ME3MP and will switch for DAMP, since I'll be playing the SP anyway.
But as said, I'll only drop ME3MP for good when the next ME is released.

Me3MP has survived ..., and its own servers.

You can STILL find 10-15 games going on any given time on almost any Diablo 2 server, and that's been forgotten by everyone else for like 15 years, plus Diablo 3.
I think we'll be fine.

"(insert game title here) will kill ME3's mp!", said every troll-prophet in this forum. The only game that's going to actually kill ME3mp is ME4. Sure the overall population might dip for a bit when a big game comes out, but you know they'll all be coming back.

I can hardly see any change it'll bring, a player who likes Borderlands may have little to no interest in Torchlight, and vise versa.
For me, I love the Dragon Age series for its story and characters, but I'm not a big fan of its combat, even less after they went all "hack and slash" style since DA2. I think I'll buy DA:I eventually, not for its multiplayer though, hope the MP will be entertaining anyway.

Some of us like SciFi games and find magic games to be a bit meh. So, no.
Also, it may be that not even ME4 will kill off ME3. As I've pointed out more than once, MW3 online is very active, as is BF3 still.

Good point, actually. ME3 will be the one to kill ME3, so poetic and badass ![]()

We'll lose some but Its still gonna survive. This Multiplayer should continue till the next Mass Effect or until they decide to shut the servers down.
Edit: Just saw who the OP was. That figures.

No, ME3MP's population always dips and then rebounds whenever there is another major release. DA:I will be no different.
Also, BSN I am proud of you, around a whole page of posts in a CS thread and no one has started to be an asshat? That is unusually good form ![]()

Mass Effect MP is (or at least seems like) a very different experience than DA:I's multiplayer. Weapons are significantly different, powers are different, classes are different, everything except the PvE/Coop features are different. I don't think this will be significantly different than the other MP games that have come out since release.
