Can someone help me with this?

In the beginning of of the Keep video it was said you can (need to?) synch the Keep with your DA:O account to download your info/achievements from the previous games you played.

What confused me was the whole account thing period. I was informed that this meant the account you used for the Origins/EA forum, but I don't remember my original one (I took a break from the forums for a while, then when I came back the Bioware forums had revamped and I created a new account). But when I made my first account I don't remember anything about the account tying into my Origins game at all. I just made an account like you would with any forum, no connection to any sort of games account at all.

Keep in mind I play on a PS3, not a PC. When I loaded the game there it didn't ask me to create any sort of account, it just downloaded the game file into the console and takes me to the menu every time I boot it up. The only sort of "account" I have is my PSN account where you can see all of my achievements.

So what the heck kind of "account" am I supposed to download? Or can I connect my Origins saves with my current forum account?

PC player here, but...

How does the console upload information to your Origin account? Do you still have the saves? If so, can you try and login with your new account (this would effectively upload the information to your new account, I'd guess...) in-game?

I'll just honestly say, I've no idea how the console ACTUALLY works - but hey, I guess I can try, right.

Oh, I still have the saves but . . . . that's not how the console works. I just . . . . . find the save file and click.

But I don't know how consoles upload information to an Origin account. I didn't know they could do that at all. Hence, I just made an account when I joined the forums.

You dont have to. It's just a quick way of starting your worldstate

Is there an option in the game to log into an EA account?

Do you still have both copies of Dragon Age?

Yup. Both DA:O and DA2. Although in honest I haven't finished DA2 yet. I'm in the middle of the Corypheus DLC. Should probably get on that.

I have an xbox but it shouldn't be too different

When you load up DA:O it ever say something like "Contacting the Dragon Age/EA/Origin servers after you press start? After it loads, if you see something in the bottom corner of your screen asking to connect to DA servers then you don't have an account synced. If you press it and it's automatic, then you may have linked an account to your game in the past. If it's your first time, it will ask for an e-mail and password and you can use your current one. For it to completely sync you need to register your games at

https://social.bioware.com/

But all of this is only required if you want quickly get your DA:O/DA2 data as a template in the keep. When you finally get DA:I  an option to connect your current origin's account will likely be on the main menu.

There is in the PC version.  I expect on the console version this is handled differently--try going to your Origin/Bioware account and looking if there are any ways to link it to your console accounts.

If not, you'll just have to manually input your choices in the Keep.  Which isn't entirely a bad thing.

Somewhere in the options there will be section that mentions logging into EA servers/Origin servers... you're Achievements/Character will be uploaded to that account.

If this current account is new... you may need to sign into this account, but all of your DLC etc.. will be associated with the PSN account that links to your original log in.

It's been sometime since I used DA on a console so I can't say specifically where in the options the log in info will be.

*Edit*

To be clear the Keep by the looks of it only track achievements, so the only thing I image this will affect is the Varric storytime section.

You'll still need run through a set-up of your world state.

If you aren't signed into an account, there'll be the green triangle button on the bottom of the start menu (resume, new game, load, etc) asking you to sign in.  If you aren't seeing that, it's probably still associated with any account you originally signed into.  But if you see that, you can just sign in with your current account, which is the same that you use for the forums.

But if it isn't there, look at the Options/Manage Account on the start menu.  The options for uploading character profile/feedback is over here.  If you Restore Defaults, it might sign you out (I don't wanna test it myself...)  I'm not 100%, but I've gotten the impression that the game syncs with EA's servers whenever you save the game.  You don't have to do anything specific and it doesn't tell you about it when you're saving.

So is there anyway to view the characters that are uploaded now?    I remember on the old BSN site, you could view your game achievements and characters, but I haven't explored this new site for any such area.

It's still there, just have to jump through more hoops to view...

Thanks DragonDreamer!   Found them...  31 characters uploaded LoL.    And it hasn't updated since 2013 so it doesn't have the latest ones.

Only half of my characters are uploaded, and many of them are listed as level 1-4 even though I finished Awakening with most of them. The cloud profiles seem a bit buggy for me.

I'm a bit worried about the synch. My internet connection isn't great, and has cut out numerous times while playing Dragon Age. :/

Here is how I got a newer Warden to update from my Xbox 360:

Sign in to the old BSN site. Fire up Dragon Age Origins. (If you have an older Xbox like I do, make sure you have your ethernet cable hooked up!) Choose the hero you would like to update with the latest save. Go into your inventory. Swap out something (you can switch it back before you exit) and then exit inventory. SAVE. Then wait until your Warden shows up (it takes a while).

Note: I noticed that it is easier to upload a Warden that has played through Awakening rather than just the end of the main game. My main game Wardens tend to cause errors for some reason. This may be because I have the Ultimate Edition? I'm not sure why.

At any rate, I got my Dalish Warden that I finished just a month or so ago to appear. Good luck!

If you've uploaded a DAO character into your Origin account (the one you're probably using here), it will show up, even if you no longer have that save on your own machine.  Many players' saves aren't available anymore, which is one of the reasons they're going to a cloud system.  As far as I know, the only players who will be out of luck are the ones who've not been able to upload their characters.

Played both games on xbox360. Never saved anything on a cloud system. Never knew I had to.

@Rawgrim - the characters are supposed to upload automatically if you do a named save while playing online.  I've got the problem Zombie Alexis mentioned with importing characters from Ultimate Edition - they just never show up.  I tried her fix just now, with a character in Witch Hunt who'd completed Awakenings.  My Varterral's Fall achievement that he earned showed up, but not the character that earned it.  Total number of characters uploaded still = 0.  Oh well.  Looks like I'm going to have a lot of wardens with the default names.  You can still enter your decisions and the details of your characters, like class, race, and gender, at least.

Okay, so I got it to work.

I logged into my very first character the other day on Origins to view the journal just so I could remind myself of the choices I made with her and her profile is now showing in my character profiles section.

So it looks like all you guys will need to do is load up your original characters and they should update on the old site. Obviously if you had character files you had to delete to make room for new characters you will be out of luck if they aren't already visible in your profile.

I am not actually seeing any of the progress the characters made in the "story mode" but ... I'll take what I can get. It shows level, skill set, etc. at the very least.

Hope that helps people. :)

I had 4 charecters in the DAO profile page, and now they are all gone, I still have the save files (PC), does someone know if I have to download the whole game just to upload the characters through it or is there a way to do it just uploading save files directly?

Maybe bioware should start a DA Keep forum or a Support forum for DAI, many people might have problems with this, I think.

None of my characters have uploaded to my profile page, including several I made recently and several I finished years ago, all on PC. None have uploaded to my account, despite repeated saves and always being logged in. Is there any sort of manual way to upload characters or force them to upload? I'm not worried about the saves as much as I am about the appearance, so it doesn't matter what point in the game they would upload from. I can remake story decisions, but it looks like there is no character creator in the Keep.
