my warden and hawke are connected to the Xbox 360 versions of the game. i switched to PS4 for this generation. will the keep sync my achievements/character data from one system to the other? i just checked my account and realized this "problem". i don't think this was addressed in the demo. i saw in the demo the sync just looking for a file to update, so i assume it won't be a problem, but might as well ask here for clarification.

I don't think it matters what platform the data is gathered from. It looks like it just grabbed whatever data was sync'd to the old BSN profile.

My latest DA:O playthrough doesn't show up on my characters (that I finished about a month ago) - but my current DA2 playthrough does show up. I'm pretty sure it said the whole time I was playing DA:O that it was syncing to my Origins account - I guess I'll double check at some point, but for now I'm assuming that at some point they just stopped syncing characters with DA:O?

There is still that annoying "takes for every to load" bug with the PS3 versions of DAO/A. But yes it still works just fine. I recently just checked and all my PS3 and 360 characters are up. (Funny thing though the majority of them are just games I just started and never got any where with them XD)

I assume we don't have to do the 'sync' thing. My DAO characters never uploaded to the BSN character profile properly, so I doubt any data the Keep will sync would be correct. I didn't even bother with my Hawkes. I'm quite happy to spend a long time recreating everything, if that's an option instead.

Yes, it is an option. Syncing is something new but it doesn't replace the actual purpose of the Keep. The purpose is that you can create your own world state from scratch even if you haven't played any of the DA games before. You can create the world states partially through the achievements you have uploaded into the old BSN, you can always use the Tapestry and you can also use the interactive movie.I'm quite happy to spend a long time recreating everything, if that's an option instead.

It seems fairly pointless, anyway. I mean, I guess it saves you like 3 clicks of the mouse + typing in a name.

If you've uploaded a DAO character into your Origin account (the one you're probably using here), it will show up, even if you no longer have that save on your own machine. Many players' saves aren't available anymore, which is one of the reasons they're going to a cloud system. As far as I know, the only players who will be out of luck are the ones who've not been able to upload their characters.
It gets the stuff from the story.xml which was uploaded.
In the main keep thread they said that even after you synch the characters you will still need to go through and pick the plot points.
I have a level 20 character but the old bsn website says its level 9
I had 4 charecters in the DAO profile page, and now they are all gone, I still have the save files (PC), does someone know if I have to download the whole game just to upload the characters through it or is there a way to do it just uploading save files directly?
Maybe bioware should start a DA Keep forum or a Support forum for DAI, many people might have problems with this, I think.
No manual way. Go in a manage them and see if it says they are still there.
