I feel that Flemmeth has nothing to do with the veil tear in DA:I for a number of reasons, keeping in mind I could be wrong. This is simply a theory.

If Flemmeth really wanted to put the world into chaos, would she not have torn the veil during the events of Dragon Age Origins?
This would have worked better in her favour if she did wish to set the world into chaos. The Blight mixed with a veil tear would easily overwhelm the armies of Fereldan and beyond. Yet, she did no.

Not only did that, she also activly assisted both the Warden and Hawke in some capacity. Saving their lives at least once each. Why would she do this if she wanted to "Destroy" the world? She doesn't want the world destroyed, she's selfish.

She wants to live forever and when the world comes into conflict such as with the blight, it also threatens her existance. As such, she assists those she believes will play a pivotal role in ending the disaster. As such, I feel she will assist the Inquisitor in some capacity. Only time will tell of course, but then again this is just a theory of mine.

Thoughts?

Well she saved The warden who went on to save Ferelden quickly , as a result Anders lived and was made a warden , then he was able to flee to kirkwall. The warden also discovered the Temple of Sacred Ashes.

Then she saved Hawke who made friend with Anders to find the lost Thaig , they find that strange Idol.

Then Meredith got crazier , and Anders got crazier and then Boom.

After the Boom , mages and templars went to war.

The Chantry had to gather at the Temple for a peace talk...lots of people to sacrifice in a place full of lyrium = veil tearing.

So hum...we know Flemeth can somehow predict the future.

I don't think she tore the veil but hey...

Maybe she did this on purpose?

Maybe she knew it was going to happen at one point anyway , and she has a back up plan?

It would have been better if the warden and Hawke died actually , the Blight would have kept on for a while , but Thedas has dealt with Bligh before.

The mages would have been used to fight the Blight , and have a chance to get more freedom as a reward...so no mages/templars wars. The Chantry wouldn't be falling to pieces right now , the veil wouldn't tear up so badly.

Probably no civil war in Orlais , they would have been too busy dealing with the Blight nearby.

Etc...

I don't know squat about this breach thingy everyone is talking about . So I'm gonna mostly guess , since this is about a theory anyway .

If Flemmeth really wanted to put the world into chaos, would she not have torn the veil during the events of Dragon Age Origins?

No . Flemeth come out as someone who calculate before making a move . A stragetist and one who can wait for a very long time for thing to take their chosen places as she want them to .

This would have worked better in her favour if she did wish to set the world into chaos.

I don't believe she want the world into chaos . She want something defintly . What ? power probably . And not just any kind of power . She want the Ultimate Power . The greatest . Either it was hers and she was stripped of it , or it belonged to someone else and she believe it should be hers and she is more worthy of it .

She doesn't want the world destroyed, she's selfish.

Selfish , hum . If she was human I say that would apply . But I don't believe her to be human at all . She reek arrogance of a God .

I say , if she has anything to do with this breach . It is either she want an opening to a certain world dimension , or she want something to come out that she can either take/use for herself . Maybe not the demon it self , maybe it soul . It power , it army . Endless possibility .

Maybe she need watever is coming out as ingredient for a Major world shattering ritual  .

That's what I think though . I admit , I do find her incredibly fascinating as a vilain and wish Bioware would make a good story out and centered on her . It has so much potential .

Flemmeth is a villain? :3

To be honest I love her XD Ok, she got some big minus points with what she planned to do to my percious Morrigan, but other than that...

Personally I don't think Flemmeth is involved this time. It seems Mor is pulling the strings somewhat.

But to be honest... I don't want to know or even think too much about it at this point :D

I at first thought that the MC of the new DA:I game would be Mor's possible kid :3 I'd have loved that. But maybe at a later point in the series -^3^-

For now I'd just be happy if it was 20th novembre already X.x

Well i do have to say if you played Witch Hunt dlc. you know Flemeth has a plan that even scares Morrigan, but the one thing i really am thinking right now is. are we sure she is even going to be a central plot point to the game? i mean couldn't they easily be waiting for a whole game of her own.

What we know about her is

She is some form of abomination/demon/spirit.

She has had many daughters. Morrigan and Yavana.

She has some form of plan.

She is respected or feared by almost every culture.

She has split her spirit up so she wouldn't die in Origins,

She planned for Morrigan to have old god baby and for hawke to go to kirkwall.

She is ancient and probably older then the story of her tells.

She is from and born in the Korcai wilds area.

(i'f i'm missing anything please forgive me.)

personally i think this just going to be another game that she gets more things she wants so her true plan will come together at a later time.

Edit: Also if you want to talk about any theories i'm just gonna say the only one i actually like about Flemeth is that she is actually Andraste.
