I wouldn't bet on anything that can't be implemented across all platforms.

Because Bioware has a habit of not implementing any feature that is exclusive to any particular platform. Of course I hope I am wrong in the case of pc ingame text chat.
Come on Bioware, it is the time to prove me wrong. I am sick of getting it right all the time.

They are using Frostbite 3 this time so it could be different and they may add it. Only time will tell.

Metal Gear Online had a very good communication system while it was up, it had some premade voice phrases your character would say, and they were good for telling your allies whats going on during a match. i don't see why bioware couldn't make something similiar.

ME3MP pc has a console where you can use unreal command "say" to text chat. But it was not enabled by default and you need some kinda hack to activate it. Bioware said that would be a ban-able offense iirc.
People say, enabling console in PC increases in-game hack / cheating chances. So thats why bioware discouraged to enable it in ME3MP.

It would be handy actually, but I would say unlikely.

I would like that. I prefer writing over mic, especially with people I don't know.

I see reason why they shoundn't include game text while playing MP.
But in the end what will console base game have?

Mics may be everywhere but if ME3 MP is any indication, barely anybody in PC is going to actually talk over the voice chat.
It would be nice to have text chat, especially if they're planning on requiring a higher level of group co-ordination than ME3 did.

I'm neither for or against text chat, but I'd like a way to put someone on ignore if I had too.
The new divinity game had a global text chat they had to turn off because of people being idiots.

So how would text chat work on a console?
DAI is supposed to operate on all platforms.
I was messaged in a 360 ME3MP game today - faffing about with console keys?
Forget it...

The game has XBox voice commands, and it already has a different interface for mouse+Keyboard interface. The versions are not required to all be identical

I'm curious about this. I haven't really been paying attention to the XBone version of the game; but have they announced any sort of voice commands or kinect functionality for that version? If so, then that would fly in the face of no platform specific features.
