Why is the former available as a Persistent Spell but the other is not? They do the same enlargement and R.M. just has some better buffs.

Is there some way I can add R.M. as a Persistent-able spell, via either console command or in an .ini-file? I'm willing to work.

Hopeful for discussion

a Persistent Spell occupies a slot 6 levels higher than its base spell. So you'd have to change RM from 5th to 3rd level, because "9" is the maximum spelllevel.

it strikes me as a balance-issue, but technically it's just a couple of changes in Spells.2da

Is it possible to have RM as persistent spell at level 30? Like, as you advance you get new persistent spells, like with every level, spell level increase?

Kamal makes an interesting point about changing the spellscript, here

answer, Yes. Change the spellscript to check if the caster is level 30, and if so set the duration to 24 hr.

but... your talking about an overall game-change... point being, it's a lot of time & effort to go through spellscripts and altering their durations like this,

even then, such spells won't really be Persistent Spells that have to be memorized as Persistent. They'd be memorized normally and just have longer duration based on CasterLevel

it's a good idea that makes a fair bit of sense otherwise.

what i'm saying is that a Persistent Spell is hardcoded to be 6 levels higher than its ordinary cast.

and the maximum spell level is hardcoded at spelllevel 9. Cogito irksome: The maximum level a spell can be to be eligible for Persistent metamagic is spelllevel 3.

( unless someone knows of a workaround, preferably one that maintains any integrity of all the other stuff that swirls around issues like this -- I'm thinking it could be done with NwNx but that's out of my league atm. )

"workaround", a complete redo of the spellbook system

Thank you everyone for the input, I am so glad that this game still has so many people dabbling, warms me heart.

I definitely don't want to be a gamebreaker and "godmode" spammer, but this might be one of the last times I do a full OC/MotB/SoZ playthrough, a sort of farewell tour, and I have already done some config edits so that Khelgar, Neeshka, and Grobnar are relieved of their most worthless feats, and helmets/armors switched on for all chars; I just want this to be the best NWN2-run yet, and this is my first cleric. So far I love it.

Will check the mentioned tips. If anything else strikes your mind, do chime in!
