No - a Mass Effect and Killzone crossover would be perfect to me: the Helghast I think would fit in well within the Mass Effect universe, except that the Bioware writing team could make them far more interesting than they were in their own game.

No.
The Rebel Alliance would be around 1,000,000,000 War Assets.
Home One could in all likelihood solo the entire Reaper fleet.
Yes!

Isn't Mass Effect already treading uncomfortably close to HALO territory?

Master Chief would overshadow Shepard.

Well, actually, ME infantry weaponry outclasses Halo's by a whole lot.
And Krogan are equals to Spartans.

Eh, UNSC weapons for sure, but Covenant or Forerunner weapons? I highly doubt it.

Forerunners don't count.
Covenant weaponry is not that good either. Slow moving plasma that does no more damage than conventional ammunition used by the humans in that series.

Yep. Despite being 500 years in the future they are still using chemical propellants, compared to The MEverse's magnetic accelerators (railguns). They haven't even adopted caseless ammo yet except for on a few weapons like the SMG, and many of the guns use the same calibers that in use today and have been around since the 1950s (assault rifle and DMR are 7.62 NATO. Sniper Rifle is 14.5mm Soviet).
On the second point, yeah maybe physically, but the Haloverse lacks as much space magic like biotics, which would actually tip things even more in the Krogan's favour.
Forerunners are the only ones in universe who seem to have superior or comparable tech to Mass Effect.

Commander Shepard would annihilate Master Chief on his way to more worthy opponents.

I think half the covenant would flee in terror at the sight of an oncoming banshee.
Covenant: Oh yeah we got brutes!
Reapers: So do we.
Covenant: Oh **** look at the size of that thing!
Harbinger: Assuming control.
Covenant: F*cken run!

While there's an app to swap out proton rounds for high explosive rounds, only 4.99 on the Apple Store.
Physically, of course, it's a wash. But a Krogan Battlemaster or Warlord would kill Master Chief without taking much of a sweat. It's nice having a redundant nervous system, isn't it?
Eh, Forerunners **** on everything in the MEU. But outside of them, and the flood, it's not that close, at least on the ground.
Both Halo and ME compare to other franchise like a kilobyte compares to a terabyte.
