I would rather die than commit an evil act the hopefully turns out well or for the greater good.  That is a dangerous path to walk and once you start down it it is almost impossible to get off.  Darth Vadar comes to mind.

And if Orzammar falls, nothing will stop the darkspawn from going to the surface, you will never have templars again, and existing ones will go mad, or possibly even die from lyrium withdrawal, you will never be able to make more Grey Wardens as lyrium is required in the Joining Ritual.

You can do as you please, Orzammar has stood on its own for four hundred years since the last blight, and Kal Sharok even longer, but every dwarf realistically knows that as things currently stand, its only a matter of time until they lose unless something changes. The only time they ever get relief is when there's a blight as the darkspawn are more concentrated on the surface than in the deep roads.

Just think of it as if you were a dwarf. If your way of life and survival as a whole was being treated, don't you think we should as least give them the choice to use it

And there in lies the rub. choice. If it was strictly volunteers that were used on the Anvil, it wouldn't be as bad. But as we find out from Caridin from what happened in the past and as we find out what happens in the future if we keep the Anvil, people are forced onto the Anvil; either by Bhelen or Branka if Harrowmont denies her more people(which is why she starts raiding the surface for unwilling people)

Prefer to destroy the Anvil, and also choose Harrowmont almost every session. Branka is too loony to be trusted, the Anvil requires a life as sacrifice to work, and Bhelen is too morally bankrupt to trust, lead, or control (the latter if I play an evil Warden).

I don't buy into that.  The darkspawn control every other part of the deep roads except Orzammar yet they don't seem to be running loose on the surface all across the world, unless I have missed something.  As far as losing templars I am ok with that never liked them or there chantry and for GW's I am sure they can find another way.  As Shepard put it in ME2, I wouldn't let fear compromise who I am.

The darkspawn regularly launch surface raids between Blights anyway. It is implied that a fair number of darkspawn are kept occupied by besieging Orzammar. If there were nothing in their way, they could stream up to the surface in even larger numbers. Losing Templars might seem fine until you have mage criminals running loose who are difficult to counter. I doubt the Wardens can find a way around using lyrium in their Joining, since there isn't anything we know of that could fill a similar role. Ideals are great, but if you lose the war because of them, they cease to be relevant.
