Guys,

The last few days, I have been thinking about on what platform I'm going to play mE4 on. Should I stick to the PC? Or should I get an X-box One, or perhaps a PS4? Mind you, I currently only own a PC. However, I might upgrade my PC...should I stick to that platform.

So, what are the pros and cons for each platform. And what would you advise me to buy?

Take care,
Kobe

I will buy soon a PS4 (if Destiny is as good as it is promising), so I will be able to give you some information. I recently read that the PS4 is technically superior to the X-Box One, but I don't know exactly how it impacts the player experience.

However, why are you thinking about "descending" ?

Well, I'm going to continue ME4 on the PC likely, but it's just an idea that has stuck in my head. I'd like to try a console for a change, just to see what's it's like. Haven't had a console, since the PlayStation, lol.

So, I just want to see what you guys think, and how the consoles compare to each other.

PC - otherwise it depends on the exclusive titles; I prefer Gran Turismo to Forza therefore I have a PS3 as well (no GT exclusive for PS4 yet and I'll not upgrade until there is).

PS4 is reputedly easier to develop for, has outsold the Xbone 3:1, and is more powerful.

It looks like multiformat games will be developed for PS4 first then converted to Xbone because of this, so if you can handle Sony's godawful retarded controller design, I'd say go for PS4.

The ported version of a game is often inferior and buggier to the original, just ask the PS3 crowd about collectors or Skyrim if you don't believe me.

Of course, the best option would be to stick with haxor race if you ask me.

PC is vastly superior platform in every imaginably way, so unless you desperately want to play a so-called console exclusive or because all your friends are poor & dirty peasants (and you don't like making new - ascended - friends), I can think of no reason why anyone would even consider buying a console.

Well, maybe Vorcha. It must be difficult enough for those fools to find the on/off button ...

Most likely the xbox one/PC will have exclusive content for me4 because bioware has a closer affiliation witg microsoft hence why inquisition was at Microsofts e3 and so was me4.

It depends on what youre looking for and who you want to play with

Obviously pc is going to be superior.

But...

By the time me4 is released, both consoles will be cheaper than they are now. Luckily, you have more than enough time to make a decision. I prefer xbox controllers myself...

Have made a lot of cool friends on the PC, you being one of them bro. This thread is not about me leaving, but about determining all the pros and cons of each platform. I'm most likely going to upgrade my slow ass pC, but I just wanted to see what other people think about the consoles.

Money is - not - an issue for me atm. That will not stop me. I just want to see what's the best option for me.

I'd only go that route if there were exclusive titles that had no chance of coming to PC and they were something I really wanted. The number of games in that list is very short for me and not worth paying for yet another machine and possibly even the privilege of playing online with others. I never got that with the consoles (at least the MS version) - the added expense of online play.

Subjective/objective

Go for PC man, everything is better, frames, controls, camera, and you can tweak more stuff to suit your needs. (legal tweaks that is)

+1 To consoles for shockwave 4b though <_<

PS 4 has the superior hardware. You'll get the most mileage in graphic potential with the PS 4 and the closest experience you'll have to PC wen compared to Xbox.

PS 4's subscription is cheaper than that of Xbox's.

PS 4's exclusives seems to be the major reason behind it outselling the Xbox one 3 to 1.. Graphics and cheaper subscription is great and all but it all comes down to the games, the exclusive games and the majority of consumers including myself prefer the PS 4 exclusives over XBOX.

I advise you to check out the PS4 vs Xbox exclusives cuz I'm pretty sure ME 4 isn't the only game you'll get...

Edit* You didn't hint at any other game, just ME 4. If yer considering spending $400 to play just one game then just stick to PC and spend $60 instead...

Is it possible, at this point in time, to know which console will give the better ME4 experience? If I could answer that, I could answer your question.

Right now, the PS4 is more powerful. But PSN is also the network that has suffered the world's largest (in scale of affected) security breach through plain (REDACTED). The X1 controller is a million times better designed than the PS4's.

Limitations to 30FPS are probably unfounded rumours once the devs learn how to use the platforms, the hardware can clearly do better.

There really are very few great games for either X1 or PS4 so far.

In your position, I'd stick with the PC and see if I actually like ME4 before thinking about getting a console.

Both sony and MS have bad controller designs. sony controllers have always felt cheap in my hands, especially the buttons and chintzy analogs that haven't been updated in the 4 generations they've been in use. I haven't used the xbone one yet but it's close enough to the 360 that i already know what i'm going to be getting there. And the 360 one is just marginally better than the original xbox controller because they got rid of those awful, awful bubble buttons. imo, there hasn't been a really good controller since the gamecube. sure, it's ugly, but it's comfortable and has an excellent analog stick. there's a reason the big N is making an adapter for the Wii u so people can play smash bros with one. [/tangent]

on topic, just stick with pc.

Dualshock 4 is by far and away the best modern controller I've ever used. It's a major improvement from the PS3 controller.

The reason the Sony controller design makes people shudder is not the cheapness of the controller or otherwise (and the PS4 controller does seem better built) but the wilful ignorance of human ergonomics that went into making it. The 360 controller has significantly better ergonomics, and the X1 controller is a slight improvement on it. (I'm saying - very politely - that if you haven't used it you shouldn't be making statements about it.)

The usual people will soon be along to give me flak for saying this, but the Pro Controler for the WiiU is superior to both PS and Xbox controllers. Better ergonomics, better quality buttons/switches, better weight and balance, and much better battery life. So Sony and MS have some improvements to make, but then there are also third parties to consider. (ME3 is the only game I know of for which th majority of serious players seem to use the standard controllers unmodified.)

PC, no question.

I plan to be playing ME4 alongside Star Citizen - for the ultimate sci-fi TPS/FPS/Space magic/roleplaying/exploration/spaceflight/dogfighting/bounty hunting/multiplayer/singleplayer experience.

Can't do that on a console.
