Dualshock 4 is by far and away the best modern controller I've ever used. It's a major improvement from the PS3 controller.

I tried both DS4 and xb1....still don't understand why people like xb controller...

Well...I'm advising against getting Bioware products on PS until I see evidence otherwise. I know PS3 isn't easy to port, but the state of ME3 on PS3 where Bioware left it was so awful that I have lost confidence in them porting any decent stuff over there period. Note that DAI is being developed on xb1 instead of ps4, I'd think DAI would be a good indicator of how ME4 will be.

Between PS4 and XB1 I'd get a ps4 without hesitation...Naughty Dog all the way. But I don't see any reason to play ME4 on anything PC.

PC, that is all that needs to be said. I will still be getting a PS4 for Uncharted 4 but will get ME4 for PC.

Guys,

The last few days, I have been thinking about on what platform I'm going to play mE4 on. Should I stick to the PC? Or should I get an X-box One, or perhaps a PS4? Mind you, I currently only own a PC. However, I might upgrade my PC...should I stick to that platform.

So, what are the pros and cons for each platform. And what would you advise me to buy?

Take care,
Kobe

PC. Those two letters are enough of a reason.

You know I generally agree with you on most stuff, but the experiences are totally different.

Desk hunch, RSI, high frame rates and loads of pixels in your face, no talking, easy to drink coffee while playing.

Comfy sofa, ergonomic controller, impossible to drink coffee while playing, loads of chatter, easier sightlines.

Same game, different experiences.

The reason I stick to a console is that I have a really nice home theatre setup in the living room, and I like using it for games. Setting up a gaming PC in the living room is fairly trivial except for the whole controller issue. Keyboard+Mouse kind of require you to sit a certain way and stay moderately stationary, unlike a gamepad. I've experimented with ME3 on a PC with five or so different controllers and none of them were really good.

A PC has every other advantage, though.

When the PS3 came out, it was ahead (or could at least match performance) with PCs. The PS4 and XOne have no such advantage - any decent gaming PC will already run circles around them. Heck, the 3+ year old PC I have in my office can run circles around them (then again, I did build that thing to last). PCs are also sooooo easy to upgrade. Only thing you can upgrade on a PS3/PS4 is the harddrive, which is nice and all (and does lot more on the PS4) but you can't upgrade the graphics card or RAM or anything else.

If you have a good PC setup, I wouldn't even think of switching.

I was really hoping the whole SteamBox thing works out, because that's basically the best of both worlds. I had some huge doubts about it, though, and it seems that at this point they are somewhat justified...

Is this a coffee-specific thing? Because I can enjoy a beverage whilst playing on a console. I just don't like coffee so I'm wondering...

I use a 65 Inch UHD TV, Comfy sofa and a Xbox One controller with my PC. PC is the best console and it is not even a console.

Funnily enough I get more thumb strain using console controllers than when using keyboard+mouse.

And the push click on the thumbsticks on console controllers is horrible IMO - so uncomfortable to press.

Most likely the xbox one/PC will have exclusive content for me4 because bioware has a closer affiliation witg microsoft hence why inquisition was at Microsofts e3 and so was me4

The very meaning of the word "exclusive" in gaming has very little to do with past corporate affiliations. Microsoft has deeper pockets than sony. Plain and simple. If they manage to get exclusive ME 4 content on the Xbox one or from any non exclusive game for that matter, it will only be because Microsoft coughed up enough money to get it. If Sony coughed up enough money then they would've hosted Inquisition at E3. They are in competition with Sony and will buy themselves as many exclusive games and/or exclusive content for games as possible in order to sell more consoles. PS 4 outsold Xbone 3 to 1 so Microsoft will pounce on any opportunity to sell more consoles...

PC, because it's more than just a gaming platform. Also, modding requires PC, stuff like HD texture mods and such things that enhances your experience while doing playthroughs

No matter the platform, you should play ME4 with a steering wheel.

If you already play it on PC, stick with it. Don't change the control scheme you are used to.

Wimp. Real gamers use an original Atari joystick.

While I play on console, by far the best gaming experience is with the PC mustard race. If you got the cash join them.

And have the joystick removed. Make the red button literally do EVERYTHING and give a whole new meaning to the term "omni button".

Well as I didn't build my own car, my own house, or my own TV I certainly will not be building my own PC  :D

I've always been a Playstation guy but I had an open mind when the new gen arrived.

However having seen the dire MS marketing campaign own goals, dodgy games and fixation with TV streaming I think I'll be sticking with PS4.

I just haven't seen any must-have titles on either machine yet to make me buy one.

Drive Club looks good so that could be the first reason, then ME4 of course  ;)   (If MS doesn't slap a time limited exclusive deal on it  :D )

I can respect that, but as long as you're not iliterate and have played with legos or similar building blocks at some point in your life, you can build a desktop from scratch. You already know how to use the internet, so you're basically half way there.

If the choice was between the PS4 and Xbone, I'd go with PS4 as well :)

Well Micro$oft decided to go the route of the douche bag, so PS4 if my whole FL wasn't already on XB One. Microsoft wants to be all of the things generically instead of do one thing well and focus on gaming.

Game price difference between console and PC is also something to consider.
