Right, but the problem with your argument is that we can't even get equal options without them doing it purposefully. We need developers to actively be trying to create equal options for us because, as the industry has shown time and again, when they don't, we don't get any options or get token representation. We need these ideas of "equality" to be active until they become second nature and ingrained in everyday thinking. Case in point, name a single game that isn't a niche LGBT game, that has even equal amounts, let alone more. You can't. And that's the point.
Again, I'm not bound with a 1:1 representation, but making close to equal is still a giant win for us. I can totally understand why people want us to take that next step and start getting actual equal representation.
To be fair though, same gender romance options are a pretty niche field to begin with in the grand scheme of video games. Perhaps too niche to frequently be given equal amounts in really mainstream games, let alone more.
In fact, I honestly think the true answer here is games that focus on same gender romance content and are specifically designed and aimed at players who want that content.
