It would however continue the Bioware trend of making straight male romance options that don't interest me in the slightest, so.

If anything Blackwall and race gated Cullen seem most likely at the moment, in my opinion.

Me too.  Especially if she's ungated so that my Lady Cadash has an LI that I like too!  Josephine and Sera don't really do it for me.

Sebastian was a dull LI,you don't even get a kiss from him unless you pursue a rivalmance.

I honestly wasn't expecting any of the LI's to be limited to one specific race/gender combination. Glad its a female elf of all thing though, not a male or a human exclusive. 

 

Before "female only" was announced I thought: 'What on earth could be a justifiable reason to be in to other male elves but not other races?!' but after the gender limitation it makes more sense. 

 

My guess is that Solas is pining for little elven babies, or had a female elven wife/partner in the past who died. Maybe both. 

 

Or maybe it's not because of either of those things, but simply because he is straight and identifies more strongly with elven culture than with other cultures.  Sure, elven kids are a possibility.

 

I agree with some others, the idea of Solas only romancing someone who MIGHT be a "breeder," well, that's kind of gross.  But then, looking at it another way, elves can only have elven children with other elves.  Their culture is dying along with their people.  So in that respect it could make some sense.

 

What we do know for sure is that there won't be any marriage in DAI.  I doubt there will be children in the ending, either, so even if that is what Solas is hoping for, it won't necessarily happen.
