While I believe that giving different kinds of players options is important I will never understand the idea that game must give all possible demographics of players the exact same number of options.
I hope writing the romances is a bit more natural than "we need a character to be x in order to keep everything fair and balanced."

I'm pretty sure that they've said that the % of people who play s/s romances is higher than the predicted % of LGB players. So it's not like s/s romances are only for LGB people.

I did the Carth romance with a female Revan and did the Bastila romance with one of my male Revans. AND, I did the Juhani romance with another female Revan. That's three romances out of my "type" right there. I'm not opposed to it. Especially if there are no options for m/m romances. It's why my lady Twi'lek Sith Warrior is currently all over smexy Malavai Quinn.
Technically, bi gamers get the most content since they get the straight and gay options for their gender.

This is why I don't understand why all orientation/gender combinations of protagonist must have exactly the same number of romance options. Everyone is able to play any Inquisitor, therefore everyone has the same number of romance options.

Yep,I've seen that argument used practically everywhere.It's a shame too because despite not being gay myself I love playing as one.
Having options and experiencing things from another perspective is what video games and especially RPGs are about.
This is true, but including more and more gay characters up to something at least half resempling their representation in real life is not the same thing as saying that the number of romance options in Bioware games has to be exactly the same for all genders/orientation combinations of protagonist.
We have a great representation of real life in Dragon Age.Darkspawn.Demons.Fade.We should also add that most people are straight thing in it too.
