We have a great representation of real life in Dragon Age.Darkspawn.Demons.Fade.We should also add that most people are straight thing in it too.

 

What does this have to do with anything? You could have 90% of the characters you meet in the game be gay and still have more straight LI's than gay LI's and vice versa. 

 

I'm asking why all protagonists should have exactly the same number of options. I'm not saying anything about the sexuality demographics of Thedas.

Possible.  I find it hard to picture Sera or Dorian as being gated.

 

I honestly wouldn't have suspected Solas as being gated.  He seemed the most open-minded of the companions.  I'm very keen to learn what the "SUPER story sense" is.

I think it ultimately comes down the fact that not everyone feels comfortable playing such a wide variety of characters.  By having things equal from the jump, then everyone can play whatever way they most want and still not be getting less content than other players.  I'm not 100% on board with this line of thinking myself.  I don't mind it being more or less equal (with each game having one or two groups that gets a bit more, provided that this gets mixed up and doesn't always favor the same group).  But others don't feel that way and I can understand their reasoning.

 

I appreciate that some people feel that way. This is the way I see it though:

 

Some people might feel more comfortable playing a game with a gay protagonist than a game with a straight one. Some people may prefer watching same-gender couples in movies to opposite-gender ones.

 

This does not mean that there should be a completely equal number of video games with a gay protagonists and games with straight ones, or that all movies must have a equal number of same gender and opposite-gender couples in them. 

 

It's the same with Bioware LI's. Yes the people who feel more compfortable playing as their own gender/orientation should have options, but there is no obligation to give them exactly the same as any other protagonist gander/orientation combination just because they refuse to play as anything else.

It would be great if some movies had more straight than gay characters and some movies had more gay than straight characters.For other media too.

 

But the thing is that the representation is almost always in favour of the straight characters with little to no exception.

IB looks weird to me.....a face and head too small for his body. A weird triangular face. And Horns that make him look like a species of Texan cattle instead of a Qunari.

 

(no wonder the Qun sent him to spy....he looks like a Qunari mated with a cow)

 

No thank you ma'am as far as an IB romance is concerned.

 

Unless he's quite different looking than what I've seen already,...he will be one romance I won't touch. I'd be continually expecting him to say "Moooo" during a romance scene.
