If Solas is race gated then last LI is definitely not race gated, it was confirmed.

If Solas is race gated then last LI is definitely not race gated, it was confirmed.

Allan confirmed in a separate thread that Gaider's tweet was just him saying he never confirmed or denied the last 2 were the race gate options so no it wasn't confirmed, the last one can very well be the 2nd race gate.

I think the last love interest will be Viv, and that she's straight, and either her or Cassandra is race gated to humans. This would give straight players one more option than gay players, but only if they play as a certain race. It's the closest thing to equal distribution I can come up with, with what we currently know.

I honestly don't see Cassandra going for anything other than Humans so I think shes the race gated one. As for Vivienne, she looks more inclined to that sort of thing.

Are you referring to David Gaider's quote?  Were it not for the Solas revelation, I'd put money on Vivienne being a race gated LI, but now... I honestly don't know what to think.  Since it makes so much sense for her to be race gated due to her interest in maintaining a good reputation among the Orlesian nobility, I am going to have to assume that Vivienne is not the final LI.  It makes little sense to me that she would not be gated against elves and qunari based on the social stigma such a relationship would carry.  In that case my guess would be that Cassandra is race gated against elves and qunari... dwarves have a neutral reputation with humans, so I don't think she'd be gated against them, but that could go either way.  No idea what Blackwall's orientation would be in this scenario, but these are my best guesses at this point.

Idk why everyone thinks Cassandra has anything against non-humans.  Nothing I've seen would lead me to think that, plus she appears to be the "default" (marketed) straight male option in the line of Ashley, Miranda, Isabella, etc. Meanwhile Vive is a politically successful Orleasian, and we all know what most of them are like...

 

(I do feel kinda bad for thinking the only black companion is going to be racist though, even if its not of the interhuman variety)

I'm fine with me, a straight male, being "picked on" this time, if it indeed happens. I got no right to complain after the distribution of the Mass Effect series and DA1.

 

I'm one of those people who believe the romance interests should level out in the long run, but that devs shouldn't feel obligated to make it exactly equal every game. They should have some more freedom than that.

 I don't really feel picked on since straight males mostly got the most choices in the ME series, also you mentioned Josephine its already been confirmed Advisers will have as much content as companions do as far as romance goes they just won't go on quests with you. Sera doesn't bother me since I don't mind playing a lesbian female.

Well, the only possibilities are Dorian, Sera, Cassandra, and Cullen.  Dorian and Sera are both unlikely due to their orientation, and Cullen is both male and straight... we already have one straight male race gated LI... so... it seems like Cass is the only reasonable guess.  This is assuming that being gay or lesbian even matters to the writers.  It might not, but I don't think they will gate those two.  Just a hunch.

 

edit:  And of course, this is all assuming that the final race gated LI is one of the LIs that's already been revealed... if not, it's Vivienne, mark my words.

very unlikely that both Sera and Cullen will either be race gated as I don't see them race gating either both elf companions or two female only options, if anything its the last option to be announced.

Blackwall as a gay only romance. Would be the first time if there are gay romance than straight romance in a video games. I doubt it's gonna happen though, so it's likely it's Vivienne who is straight for humans.

If this is the case, my money is on Vivienne being race gated... if she's not an LI, however... lol... my money is back to Cassandra, with Blackwall being gay or bi and non-gated.  Then again, I know nothing about Blackwall, so that's just a wild guess.

Of the confirmed LI, I can see Cullen being racegated.

 

Dorian's reasons are flimsy so while possible, unlikely. 

Sera is out of the running imo with Solas being racegated.

Cassandra has shown no reasons to be considered such.

Iron Bull and Josephine are confirmed to not be. 

 

Though I think the most likely one to be racegated is the last LI, so either Blackwall or Vivienne. Most likely Vivienne.

Somehow I'm not feeling particularly sorry for the straight males being "picked on" for once. As a straight female, I'm vaguely hoping to get Blackwall even though I'm pretty sure that Solas is one of the two remaining LIs based on those tweets I saw linked in the Twitter thread that seemed to hint at it. Maybe for once we'll have a plethora of LIs to choose from - it would be a nice change of pace.
