With cassandra, being a high up noble, it makes sesne that she'd only really be able to be in relationshuips with other human nobles. Maybe it'll be like alistair, I'm not sure.

I can make the counterargument that because Cassandra rejected that lifestyle, she would NOT be open to romancing another noble.

Of course, she might not even be race-gated.

maybe class-gated considering her rejection of being nobility. Mages and non-humans mostly

There's no class-gating, though. Besides, she's apparently open to loving a mage, if her and Regalyan ever had an actual relationship.

I meant that if she is, she'd be closed off to the nobility. Although now that you mention Galyen, will we find out what happened to him? I mean, in Asunder, he wasn't anywhere to be seen in the White Spire, unless he became a Enchanter in Montsimmard

Ah, I see. My mistake.

As for Galyan, I can't shake this feeling that he died at some point and that Cassandra somehow feels personally responsible for it. Something like that would shed some light on how she became more open-minded about the world over the years. If she fell in love with someone who she would have otherwise hated (in this case, a mage) and he died as a result of a perceived flaw in the Circle system, then her opinions would have begun to change.

It would explain her anger and her pursuit of "justice over everything else".

Well, Gaider did write both characters.... :P

Seriously though, the storyline would probably be handled a lot differently, since the circumstances are vastly different.

The whole 'dead loved one' trope does get a little old, but if the writer can pull it off, then so be it.

Am I the only one still desperate for some Varric love?

Don't normally go for the dwarves, but whilst role playing, I fell for him HARD — same way I fell for Garrus despite my lack of sexual attraction to lobster-birds. He was my best friend, my constant companion, funny, snarky, clever, well-read, suave as f***, and Dat Voice.

This would be the very first dwarf LI ever introduced (Gorim doesn't count, that cheating scumbag). It's unlikely, but I can dream... <3

Varric has been confirmed as unavailable :( .

I may have stopped crying into my cider by the time November arrives.

They already announced that he's not.

but it seems forced I will play the games numerous times and also pick different races but not for romances but for the story

And Solas romance in particular is way too restriced I mean at least make him or available to another race

this way only very few players will experience the romance which is a shame

This. If what they said is true and you really need 150 hours to finish the game, then I prefer to make a character (as far as race and gender goes) that I would enjoy to play. Will it make me sad to miss come content? Probably, but romances aren't important enough in the game to make me go through a whole playthrough with a character I don't like just to see it.

I don't think I will have stopped. When did this happen? Or more over, WHY did this happen? They even considered him in DA2, but not for DA:I. I mean, aside from how amazing Varric is... they've covered all their bases, minority wise, but no Dwarves?. They were the largest, most expansive civilization in Thedas at one point, and their language (Trade) has become the standard language of diplomacy and (duh) trade for the world! But having sex with one of them? Nope.

I'm taking this a little too personally, aren't I? :'(

Too personally? Maybe. But they haven't had a dwarven LI (male or female) yet, so it's something I'm also hoping gets implemented in the next game (or maybe even a DLC character? Who knows!) But Varric has a story we haven't heard yet so I'm okay with that being their reasoning for not making him romanceable, though I do hope we finally find out what's up with Bianca.

Little known fact:  The originator of Carth Syndrome was actually a woman.  She's the only known infected woman at this point.  She's like the Typhoid Mary of Carth Syndrome........

Well, us straight males don't really have any bangable options. I mean Viviane looks like she was dumped in oil, and Cassandra is self-explanatory, and the only cute one is gay. I think us straight men are just as entitled to complain, when we don't like something.

First of all , don't attempt to speak for all of us *Straight male gamers* Only part i agree with is , I don't really care for Viv , I also don't really care for Sera either so no to the *only cute one* isn't available. Cassandra and Josephine imo are very good looking and very *bangable* as you so put it.

And No , None of us , no matter gender or orientation have any right to demand something , It's Bioware's game , it's there choice on who are the available LI's and there orientation. If you don't like the options you have 3 Options. 1. the most obvious , Don't buy the game and leave the forums. 2. Romance someone else and quit whining and option 3. Romance No one.

As for the last LI , My vote is Viv also and gated for Humans only , just to keep the LI Options as close to even as possible. Blackwall is a no go due to be a older warden and nearing his calling.

Read the comic books. You see Varrics' love interest in Until we Speak or something, one of the last ones anyway.

Yep. That is what I guess might happen with regards to Regalyan and Cassandra. That or Regalyan is at the peace summit and dies when the peace treaty blows up or that he dies in the Mage-Templar war due to no fault of his own.

Cassandra won't romance male mage inquisitors, Cullen will only romance female mage inquisitors, and Dorian will only romance male mage inquisitors.

But that's probably the exact reason they'll pick him. It'd be a compelling story. (Besides, Bioware needs the fan tears. They go through those things quicker than a Templar through lyrium.)
