I don't have much hope for ME, but I do hope the DA team will take note of this for next time.
Don't forget that NME is made by the Montreal studio, the team that did the trilogy is working on the new IP.

Didn't Mass Effect 1 have more gay content then straight?
That was a pretty successful franchise if I do say so myself.
Depends on if you consider Asari to be "female" or no.

Are we really going to have THIS discussion?
It'll only bring back memories of debates prior to ME3....*shudder*
For all intents and purposes, Asari are female - at least in the eyes of a human Shepard. Case closed. Full stop.

You know what's really sad? With all the arguing of who should get extras
Some posters are reminding me of a child who is upset that they didn't get as many cookies as the kid next to them

yep the ME team and the DA team are two different teams and I always thought the DA team always delivered better but then again I was one of the few that liked DA 2 and enjoyed it more than ME 2 but I have always enjoyed straight up fantasy over sci fi fantasy anyway

Yeah, maybe so. Still something worth fighting for though.
A lot of things that don't exist are.

Equality is a myth.
All we can do is continue trying to come as close to it as possible. We might not get there in our lifetime, but we can keep whittling down inequality until we have something close. Just giving up is not the answer.

I bet a lot of people told Martin Luther King Jr. that equal rights would never exist.

No, I'm saying that this is a different team that the team that did the others ME (which I find too heavy on the straight male fantasy side).

I play as a gay male. We've always been the lowest priority. Less options across Bioware's history than any other demographic.
I don't mean to be rude, but homosexual men are not the lowest priority. There has been around 8 men available to men in Bioware's history if I recall correctly. In comparison:
How many asexual options? 0
How many demisexual options? 0
How many AS options? 1 0
etc, etc.

Right, good luck with that.
Well i suppose "equality" could theoretically exist when it came to a fictional product.
I mean it is fiction

Hm, can't argue that.
But we're talking about orientations that have had some sort of representation I think.

I actually did not realize that the Montreal studio didn't make the other ME games. That's interesting.

How many demisexual options? 0
I don't think that would translate well into a video game, but that's me personally.

Equality is a myth.
I'm going to agree and disagree with you. Do I believe that the world will ever be 100% equal to every person? No. Not every belief, ethnicity or sexuality will be represented and have representation in media. There are endless amounts of them, so I don't believe the world can even be perfect and equal in that sense. But equality is worth fighting for. Nothing bad happens for fighting for fairness. In small aspects of the world, things can be equal. And in a video game, asking for more fairness (not even perfect fairness) is far from impossible. And it is far from unreasonable. That's what a majority of posters are asking for; more fairness.

That's fair. Out of the sexualities that they acknowledge, gay men have been the lowest priority, but they definitely should expand their approach. At GaymerX, they said they would like to make an asexual relationship, so hopefully we will see that next time.
I think it would be difficult to make it obvious that someone is demisexual, or another that sort of double applies as having a gender attraction, but hopefully they will approach making it clearer. Easy isn't always the best option.

Some people had interpreted the Merrill romance from DA2 to be a demisexual romance until Gaider confirmed the LI's were in fact all bisexual, and not playersexual. So, it's possible and would only require a few lines of dialogue to set up.

It would require a lot of working it into the game, i mean that's attraction via emotional connection and investment.
I personally don't see it as feasible really unless if you just want to center a game around it. It wouldn't fit in the style of romance that Dragon Age has cultivated thus far.

I agree that of the six that have been done so far, homosexual men have gotten the least amount of options. I just felt like I needed to post that there are others who have not only gotten less, but none at all.
Yeah, I'm interested in how they will do an asexual romance. Wouldn't be surprised if DA4 has one. As for demisexual and the other sexualities in the Gray-A umbrella, yeah it would be challenging but it would be worth the challenge.

Isn't the Sebastian romance technically a non-sexual one?
That went over really well...

There has been no asexual LI's but you could pursue asexual romances with some LI's, mostly in DAO though. Meaning that sex doesn't have to be part of your relationship.
