Which is why it would be nice to see a DIFFERENT group be underrepresented if it has to happen. Not the group that has been underrepresented in every game. (Not sure if underrepresented is the term I mean)
It wouldn't be nice for us, I'd rather see an equal spread in all honesty but that means the next revealed romance would be Vivienne and I still think someone would be angry with that.

I'm not following your logic here. EVERYONE will have two ungated options, regardless of who the last LI is. Plus, some groups are going to get a third (and maybe fourth is Blackwall is the last Li and either straight or bi) race-gated option.

By making Vivienne the last romance and making her straight, which I more and more think is going to happen.

It's not going to happen, that's true. But it should still be brought up that it should've happened.

Agree i'd prefer equality of choice(dislike all this gating and move away from da2 approach) but definitely not down with this well because you've had more options in the past you should get less now stance.
So this talk about asexual and demisexual representation made me wonder:
Don't demisexuals and asexuals have another sexual orientation as well? Like, couldn't you be demisexual and only interested in opposite sex partners? Or asexual and only interested in same sex partners?
If so, then this particular aspect of their sexuality would still need representation (being demi- or a-), but they are still getting representation with the straight, bisexual, or gay romances in some capacity, right?
I'm just not familiar enough with these sexualities so it would be helpful if someone who understands them better could explain it to me. We can do it off-board in a PM if you don't want to derail the thread.
Asexuality and demisexuality are already orientations. In most cases to define the genders attraction it is use the romantic definition or in other cases the sexual one but it is not a rule. This is because even if you are asexual in any scale you can have sexual attraction.
As a demisexual I always felt represented in some parts, at least in the romantic side. To me character like Alistair, Merril and so on, sometimes to seems to fall on the ace scale but they are not acknowledge. That is why I think when people complain about the sexual ambiguous characters they forgot that making everyone bisexual can erase other's sexuality, a character can be attract to all the gender and not be bisexual. In therm of equality I think think DA 2 was the best approach in therms of representation, it was not.
And I think a dev already said that the romance do not need to be sexual to be full realize. Which is kinda cool but I am still waiting for someone like Sebastion to be represented without the religious chaste thing because he was indeed heterosexual, it could had been a good opportunity to represent some aces, oh well.

everybody else (I guess you mean lesbian and gay gamer) never got special treatment whereas straight male gamer got always the most LI's (besides DA2 where everyone got the same amount of options, beside straight females). The option can't be equal anymore since it's only one LI left. It's only fair to give it a minority, after Solas was given to a majority.
Because according to your logic, only straight men should get special treatment, right?
It's been shown that the most played romanceable characters are straight females, So yeah if there's more of us then that just makes sense.
