Let me just say this about the representation issue: a distribution is hardly fair if a minority is significantly overrepresented. There is a reason why we tend to have proportional representation in our democracies. Not that this would be practical in a game mind you, but in fact those who ask for their minority to be equally represented are asking for a privilege.

I don't mind the present state of things and I think everyone should at least have a choice and not be reduced to one option, but beyond that, I don't think the people promoting LGBT content have a point regarding fairness. The situation is already more than fair to them.

 

This post has some credit to it.

 

Even with the uneven distribution we have that the moment, of the 12 advisors and companions exactly half are straight (or presumed straight) and half are other sexualities. If Blackwall or Vivienne happen to be bisexual or homosexual then over half of them will be other sexualities.

 

Not that I'm complaining, since we need the representation, but half is really quite substantial. And people are asking for even more in order for Vivienne or Blackwall to be available to the same gender.

 

And that's with every bisexual or homosexual companion being an LI.

it's quite unfair to put lesbians and gays with bisexual people together, only because they're part of the LGBT community. Bisexual people are also available to straight male and female gamer. You could also add them to the list of heterosexuals...it doesn't work this way.

No. I was speaking of a personal opinion  .

I think she'd look better in something else, when she is not being used as a companion which chances are I will not use her. Especially with the qunari horned hats but no they add that because they didn't give her hair.

But hey, mods will come out.  I make mods too, so I could do it also if I had the time. 

 

Oh please, how is pointing out the fact that a companion is not wearing a poofy dress because she is a companion not a relevant response? She's a companion, she dresses how she dresses, she isn't there for your personal taste. Her outfit has to be at least somewhat practical. 

 

I very much doubt that they added a hat to cover up lack of hair. Her look is somewhat inspired by maleficent and she is meant to be part of the Orlesian upper class and very interested in fashion. It suits her character. It seems very likely that this stuff was decided way before they decided stuff like what kind of hair she would have. 

 

Also you said her outfit was not fashionable, that's not a statement of opinion that is an objective statement which shows a lack of understanding on what fashion is and how it works. A lot of fashion is inspired by animal forms, horns show up often as do bird influenced designs so her winged/horned headpiece really isn't all that unusual if we are talking about high fashion.

I can't add us to the list of heterosexuals, because we are still a minority and part of LGBT.

 

No matter how you look at it half of the Inquisitions main 12 is formed of sexual minorities, which is pretty cool, admittedly. And if Blackwall or Vivienne are bisexual then they are actually the majority.

After Solus? I wasn't around for that (took a short hiatus from posting here after starting a new job) but was it really that bad? Worse than Sera-gate? Or Cassandra-gate?
