I can't add us to the list of heterosexuals, because we are still a minority and part of LGBT.

No matter how you look at it half of the Inquisitions main 12 is formed of sexual minorities, which is pretty cool, really. And if Blackwall or Vivienne are bisexual then they are actually the majority.

it's a game. It's not about statistical distribution as in real life. So, adding bisexuals to the list of gay and lesbians would mean heterosexuals should represent at least 50 % of the companions and advisors, and this means more LI's are only available to straight males and females who also get the bisexuals as well.

IIRC David said that some of the romances didn't require sex to progress. I'm guessing that's the minority of them though.

I would so laugh if IB is one of them.

AND, after having Zevran and Fenris, it is going to be amazing to have dashing Dorian and muscle-bound scruffy Iron Bull.  If we get a hot daddy bear on top of it?  My mind my not be able to handle it.

Aimo's recent sketch sums up my restlessness over the wait.  I am one with that Inquisitor's expression for some Bara Boyfriend.

After Solus? I wasn't around for that (took a short hiatus from posting here after starting a new job) but was it really that bad? Worse than Sera-gate? Or Cassandra-gate?

I rank this a step below Varric. Definitely not as bad as Sera, though. But a part of the forum went on a bender.

If Vivienne or Blackwall are bi then the proportion of sexual minorities in the Inquisitions main 12 will actually surpass the proportion of males to females.

That's pretty insane, really. In kind of a good way but also a ''asking for a bit much'' way.

If Blackwall is an LI, my first inquisitor will be a female dwarven rogue, and I'm going to name her Aimo in homage to the artist who kept me amused and engaged through this whole, painful wait.

Bald and shorty...nah.

Bald people are by default evil until proven otherwise and Dwarves remind me of stocky children *Nods sagely*

Most of the anger for Solas doesn't come from him being "Lady Elves ONLY" though more to the balance of the force being tipped.

I am pretty sure Vivienne will be a race gated romance for humans. Anyways I hope they at least give us a dwarf romance option as dlc. I mean come on! First  gamewas 3 humans 1 elf no dwarf which was totaly understandable. Then second game was 3 humans 2 elves and the only male companion that would have made a good love interest was a dwarf and he wasin't even a romance option.  Now this third game has a whopping  8 romance options and not one of them is going to be a dwarf (despite the fact one of them is a qunairi for pete sake). You have got to be kidding me.

It has nothing to do with romances, I'm saying that asking for over half the Inquisition to be LGBT is probably asking for a bit much, cool as it is that half of them are.

... Why, exactly, is it "asking too much"? This topic brings out the worst in me.

well, I don't care about the companions who aren't romanceable. But at least the ones who are LI's should be represented fair. I don't think it's okay to make them straight just to balance out the non romanceable companions who are queer.

this I need to ask, is it not representation if there not a Romance?!

It's approaching over-representation of minorities, like the poster I originally quoted said. Half is amazing on it's own, but asking for more is pushing the line.

Also, I'd have a bit of a problem with it if over half of the Inquisitions 12 main players were non-straight, but the only ones who weren't a romance were the asexual and the person who was a romance in a previous game...

But why is that? Bisexual characters are available to straight players as well as gay players.

I think it's more important to have equal choices when it comes to romances. I'm totally okay, if there are as many heterosexual as lesbian and gay non romanceable companions, but I'm also okay, if the straight ones are slightly overrepresented.  But I'm not okay, if it's always the same group who gets more options with the love interests.

It still counts as representation if there is a not a romance.  But it's not a substitute for representation in the romances either.

Maybe if you didn't cut of the most important part of that sentence...

If 6/12 of them are LGBT and all of them are romance options or have been romance options then it feels a bit like the sexual minority characters only exist to be romanced.

Technically, all the romances are available to straight players.  It's not like DAI scans your sexuality when you boot it up.

so you think it's okay that straight gamers get more romance options?
