You only get those gated if human or elf, if qunari or dwarf you have the same number as everyone else.

Garrus still had more content than Kaidan and Steve combined. Kaidan's romance is way better if you continue it from ME1 and you can only do that as femshep, and he could be dead for guys too.
And at least girls had any romance to import from the earlier games.

Straight female players have access to four LIs that are interested in their gender and sexuality, including the same base two choices for every race that every other demographic gets. One of their gates is for the vast majority of race choices, humans and elves. Saying that straight females aren't getting an incredibly better deal than any other demographic is absurd.

The text that I originally quoted was about speculation of Dorian having lesser romance compared to Cullen and Solas plot-wise. My comment is that Cullen and Solas will probaply have less plot-driven romance than him. It doesn't matter me in the end, I was happy romancing Zevran in DAO although that didn't make me prince or got me god baby.
Hm... good point actually... I always go with different options when handling the Landsmeet and the Dark Ritual, but I guess they are indeed critical to the plot. Maybe this means that Vivienne, Cole, Varric, and Leliana will be the most integral plot-wise in DA:I? It could explain why none of them are LIs... although there are many other reasons to explain Cole and Leliana as well.

Yeah, this. Someone can make four different playthroughs, playing as a straight female in all of them and still romance a different character in each. Gay men, gay women and straight men cannot. And I'm pretty sure more people are willing to play as a different race to romance a certain character than a different gender.
By the way, will brothels be making a return in DAI, where you have your choice (regardless of gender) of campanion for the night?
