I have no issues with him only liking humans.

 

It's the elves (particularly dalish elf) that gets me.

 

How is their a story reason for him being gated to dwarves and non qun Qunari but not elves?

 

Also if Cullen's idiotic enough to question my PC's dedication cause she's Qunari...I don't see that ending well for him. I'll send him on all the crappy missions

Cullen found attractive the elven mage warden in DAO ( also elves are pretty in the eyes of humans ), so it might be the same in DA:I. When it comes to attractiveness, sometimes it can be stronger than political reasons. ( maybe he doesn't find Qunari and dwarves attractive enough to fall in love )

I really doubt Cullen has been pining over one woman for over 10 years, even a woman as awesome as the Warden.  It just establishes that he finds elves attractive, nothing more.

Straight women have more options than anyone else, by twice as many. Even with the race gates, straight female elves have 3 options, but I'm not going to pretend race gated options are not options. That's ridiculous.

Honestly no, because only straight women willing to play an elf get 4 options, presuming of course they don't play someone only interested in hooking up with another elf.

 

So its people who play a straight female elf who get ahead, because that's not exactly hard to do, I did that back in DAO and I'm what some would call a CIS Male Gamer.

 

That'd be an interesting poll to make in fact. What is the most important character customization trait for players, race or gender.

I have to say while Blackwall as a romance option was a surprise I am happy for his fans who wanted him, I always knew both Sera and Dorian were safe from gating and really Cullen was always my choice for being gated and I always said he would be human and elf females only though Solas made me question this the last few days. I am happy my girl Sera has no race restrictions though I wonder how they will handle BW's romance but even though I am a straight male I am happy with the options I have and no offense but some of you need to chill its just a video game its not a commentary on the real worlds treatment of sexuality. As I said yesterday some are sounding like a child who is fussing cause they didn't get as many cookies as the kid next to them.

Well, that announcement kinda surprised me.  Not in a bad way, since I like the idea of romancing BW more than Viv, but I didn't figure on the uneven gender split for the LIs.  Shows what I know LOL

 

It'll be interesting to see the actual reasons in-game for the gating on Solas and Cullen.  There's a lot of speculation here, but I'm curious if any of the suspicions are correct or if the reasons will be something else entirely.  I'm also curious if the female quizzys from their gated races will have the option to flirt and be turned down (in a vein similar to Aveline's clueless reaction to flirting Hawke in DA2), or if the option just won't appear in the dialog wheel.

 

Since I was already working on my list for the 8/8 post when the announcement came, I adjusted it accordingly.  The only one of these I'm certain of is the first one (DORIAN!!!      ).  I'm likely to change play-orders (and possibly other details) after my first play-through when I know more about everyone

Also, I'm sorry that so many people are disappointed (for various reasons).  As is pretty clear from my list, I'm cool with playing whatever race/gender/sexuality is available.  I know I get the best out of this, so I'm sad that so many other people are unhappy about things.  Sympathy and hugs to whoever needs them.

Transgender people usually like males or females...only very few of them like females who used to be males and vice versa. So, they have the same amount of options as other people. Only thing missing: the transsexual character editor.

Um,I really don't want to get in between you two arguing but celibate and asexual people actually do get options. It's been confirmed that not all romance options require sex.

Transgender isn't a sexuality.  Transgender people are still straight, bisexual, gay, etc.
