Queer gamers make up the smallest portion of the player base, but same-sex romances are popular. I believe Patrick noted that more people romance Leliana with a female than played a rogue in Origins. That either the number of queer gamers was several times larger than their projections showed, or that straight gamers enjoyed same-sex content.

Depending on how people play they can find all romances enjoyable. I know some players only play one gender and one sexuality but some play both genders and different sexualities. I'm straight but I also enjoy same-sex content in the games.

Well, we took straight guys with us this time, but straight women are getting twice as many options. So, it's another, "at least you tied for last", situation. Unless you consider that they were willing to also gate Iron Bull. So, gay men basically owe not getting dead last again individually to John Epler, who used his own time to work out the issues.
I just wish Bioware would stop refusing to offer equal options to everyone.

I got tired and bored of always playing a straight male so I tried playing as a lesbian female and I got to where I like playing as females over males just cause its different and there isn't enough main heroine's in games

If they only give Cullen as romance for the fandom they didn't listen enough lol. Rather big part of Cullen fandom is guys and many were looking forward him not being race-gated.

I'm not denying straight women had few choices in ME3, but Kaidan definitely wasn't the only option.

but the lesson I'm taking away is that gay and lesbian players make up the smallest portion of Bioware's playerbase. We shouldn't ever expect our options to actually be equal to those the straight players are presented with.
Dunno why you would take away that lesson when straight male toons have the same number of options.
