I'll say it. I'd rather she wasn't a romance at all than have her be straight. Call me a jerk, but it'd be an easier disappointment for me to handle, personally.

I thought Solas would be straight way back when I was assuming there would be six LIs, but when they announced there would be eight and Cullen was straight, I assumed there would be an equal amount of options with the 2/4/2 distribution. Disappointingly naive, I guess.

David did say that the BioWare vision of fairness would be if everyone got choices. That is, at least two options.

Allan mentioned that again in one of the previous threads.

So, gay PCs = 2 LIs.

Solas is likely race-gated for good reason. They did say any race-gating will be tied to the background of the respective character, so if nothing else, it will probably make some sense.

 

What surprises me is how he is also gender-restricted. I don't know what that means for Sera...

That's not reason enough for me. From what little we know of her, it wouldn't surprise me to find she has other plans than romance on her mind.

Sigh. Okay, you're right. But I won't be happy about the first unambiguously black companion being only available to the straight dudes who have spent the whole of this game's marketing complaining about how not attracted to her they are. :/

She should be a romance option (of any orientation) because there's no reason for her to not be one.

I saw a post earlier in one of the other threads about her not being a romance option that was so hilariously offensive. I admit that I found it somewhat flabbergasting to read, and sad (though I can imagine people who have to put up with BS like that all the time being proportionally less amused).

I think the final romance is going to be Blackwall only because I can't imagine Sheryl not getting involved in the fun. (And that's as good and likely a reason as anybody else's that I've seen, honestly.)

I was so suprised that Solas is so gated. Only 1/8 quizzys can romance him (race + gender combos) and that's very limited amount. I was sure that race-gated would be against 1-2 races, not 3. I'd love to romance Solas but I don't want to play as female elf, sigh.

I've had my hand in the Vivienne Cookie Jar since we were down to 4.  Not taking it out yet since I feel she is a much superior option than Blackwall.

 

Blackwall was the guy that I never for a second thought would be a LI, and I still don't based on the information we have on him.

 

But as I've been saying all along, all we have is a few lines, and nobody, not a real person nor fictional can be described in a few lines, so Blackwall can easily be different than I envision him being.

 

I will accept any choice from BioWare, straight Blackwall, gay Blackwall, bi Vivienne, straight Vivienee etc etc, as long as it leads to a good story.
