It would be nice if people would admit that its not about the lack of choices. Its about not being able to romance WHO they want.
Not really, I won't romance Vivienne but I'll still be sad if she isn't a choice.

She's already been romanced by the Warden and if they did another romance with her, it'd feel pretty familiar.
What!? Didn't they see Morrigan in DAO? I kid I kid!
Thanks for the answers
what is the story with Liliana? Why can't people do anything with her?
Because her writer has a different vision on what her story will be about in this game?
If I may ask what do you consider counting as a romance? I'm not saying that I don't count Solas as one (unless you need to make very specific choices in the past games to be able to romance him but I doubt that's the case) I'm sorry I know this is an odd question I'm just curious to know what requirements are needed for some to count as a romance its quite interesting to hear other people's thoughts on the matter.
I consider anything that the devs consider to be romances. If the devs call it a "romance", then I call it a romance. That's why I usually use the "unlocks the achievement" criteria in the newest games. It indicates to me that they consider it a romance.
For example, in this game, the devs have been saying "8 romances" and then specifically call Solas one of those romances. So, to me, he counts as a romance, even if only elf females can access it.
Sigh.
So gay dudes lose AGAIN. Unless Blackwall is bi/gay which means us gay ladies don't get Viv.
Or, worst case scenario, Vivienne is a straight option and we both get less options this time.
Lovely.

You can't romance Morrigan in Inquisition either...?

If it has a comparable amount of content and the same impact as the other romances, then I count it as a romance. That's why I'm always on the fence about counting Sebastian. It felt much more shallow than the others, content-wise. No payoff, not as many intimate moments as the other LIs got, no chance to really talk things over and come to an understanding on certain issues.
Sigh.

Yeah, it's unavoidable that either gay women or gay guys will have the least amount of options again. Technically, it could be one or the other or both. And, there's also the chance that straight guys will also be tied for the least, depending on how it rolls out.

Yeah that I knew, but shes........different now. Also with Liliana being a major part of the Inquisition and presumably working very close with the PC I saw that as a pretty good reason. That's not to say Morrigan can't or wont be a huge part of the story either, I'm just saying you are side by side with Liliana.
is this sarcasm? Cuz Leliana was not racist. Ignorant yes but also very open minded and genuinely interested in Dalish culture...I just hope it's like Leliana and the Dalish Elf where she is ASTOUNDINGLY RACIST.
;-)
This is really weird. When David Gaider clearly said one or two months ago that they considered having at least two romance options as fairness, and that they didn't feel the need to give equal number, not many people reacted, most were indifferent, approved his post or said it's bioware's choice, deal with It or something like " as a gay, I'm already grateful for what Bioware gave me, several options while it never happened before. "
And now that his words become reality, people react strongly as if they never knew it could happen.

Well, I'm for equal options so I wouldn't get any enjoyment from straight dudes being on the bottom this time(especially if they take gay ladies with them XD) - but I admit I wouldn't be too broken up about it, either.
I sympathize with gay dudes, however. *iknowthatfeelbro.jpg*
I'm eagerly awaiting the last LI reveal, I guess. Too bad we can't both come out on top (or equal ground).
So um...considering I have no plan much for my Human Mage's development, except the fact that she is going to be my "in-between" in the Mage-Templar conflict. She is an Andrastian who believes the Circle is necessary, but she understands the plight of the mages who are treated horribly. Still, in the beginning before the conflict escalated, she wouldn't do much. She would focus on the good things in her life and make the most of it. However, during the few years when she is on the run and her world is turned upside down, she begins to see more that the mages who want freedom are right. She even becomes somewhat bitter and commanding because of how things turned out and being targeted for simply escaping with her life.
I plan to romance her with Cullen, who can help her develop and look past the events that happened. I don't know if that will go like that, which makes it hard to plan right now without playing the game first. I'm just going with her background mostly.

I was never happy about that.
I think many people thought he was referring to race-gating when he said some Inquisitors would have less options. That's what I thought at least.

I recall quite a few people (myself among them) being worried about having less options, but we didn't know how it would shake out back then. I guess we were foolish enough to hope it might not be us gays this time.
Also, I remember people telling us not to panic until we knew for sure.

I hear that.
That said I think you should do what you can to support your fans. You fans don't know the intricate details of everything about the development and if you think enough about them to tell them ahead of time and prepare them then I also thank they should do just that...prepare. It's ok to voice your opinion or make it known you don't agree with it, but there is a lot of crying among different threads. On the same token I don't put as much stock into these things as others so maybe I'm missing some of it.
You can't change it now so letting them know how you feel is good. Once they know how you feel then they know.
im glad varric is off the table i want him to get closure with the girl hes in love with before talk of romance with him

It still matters. I think that people still appreciate "flirt" options even they don't end up being full fledged romances. And even in terms of flirt options, gays and lesbians typically get less options. That is not good.

It's down to Viv and Blackwall, could go either way, and I think both characters are great! ![]()
I strongly believe Cullen is the remaining race-gated (humans & elves).
Regardless of whatever. Just, purely from a character/story perspective:
- Viv: Ice Queen, was set to become Senior Enchanter. I can see her going "Not what I'm here for". She's "The Ambition".
- Blackwall: Dedicated his life to being a Warden, the world is crumbling, his Calling may not be far. He stops to smell a flower. Appreciating the little things amidst chaos. Beauties of this world he has and continues to fight for. Opens up for love. "Eternal for as long as it lasts" kinda deal. (Straight & available to all races).
Again, it could go either way & the same for Viv in that aspect. But I'm thinking, they'd go for "The Resolve", commitment, duty & honor type who's seen so much war and fighting in his lifetime, show a vulnerability and a sensitive side to him many maybe wouldn't have expected (whether you are romancing him or not). It's how this is all affecting him. Well... just a guess, anyhow. ![]()

I am anything but smart when it comes to computers....but it may have something to do with an ad/script blocker if someone accidentally added some things into the library or maybe a browser restart?
