Yeah, I can see how the cutesy can put you off given my reaction to Merril.

I'd never entertain romancing Vivienne (even if she was a bi LI) because she's Orlaisian and Pro-Circle.

Which automatically turns me off her.

I don't even see Sera as cutesy as much as just not serious about anything, and I don't enjoy that for romances. It just dissapoints me because Bioware finally makes a fully lesbian companion we can romance and I'm just meh about her, and the woman I actually wanted, who I still assert comes off as very gay in a lot of ways, is straight. So I don't have lack of options, just not at all the options I want. Life is so hard for me... <sarcasm

It's the "young, frenetic, and a brat through and through" that makes me think Sera is gonna be obnoxious as hell.

The short dialogue we got from her in one of the demos actually had me really excited. It was like a shot of Luke to the veins; I didn't realize how much I needed it until I got it.

I'm still planning on Varric going in blind, but I can easily see Sera knocking him out of the party, especially if he hasn't learned any new tricks or has become too much of a hard-ass.

Cassandra all the way for me, though. No interest whatsoever in Iron Bull, and I haven't seen anything of Blackwall (literally, I haven't cared enough to even look).

I hate that my favorites are all mages this time around. I know Dorian is coming along, but Vivienne seems so magical; I wish I could do an all-mage party, but I know I never will.

I confess, as a straight man, I think Cassandra would have been interesting as a bisexual woman (I didn't think gay due to the movie and her "Male Hawke sigh" moments).

I suppose they wanted to avoid stereotypes but still.

I feel for your pain about having something made for you and it not being what you wanted, though.

My first Non-Evil Bloodmage is a cutesy Elf Girl! AHH! She probably bakes cookiees and makes toys for Santa too!

Out of curiosity, why is it important that she's a companion?

Traynor had more romance content than several of the other romances in ME3 and she wasn't a squadmate

I never quite understood the appeal of Samantha Traynor.

Then again, I was Team Kelly and everyone looked at me like I was surreal for that.

I like Cassandras personality. Hard as nails on the outside but deep down a romantic. But of course, she is not interested in women, and my heart will forever be broken because of this.

I feel the same way. That's all I can really say, so disappointed.

She fits an archetype that a lot of lesbians find appealing.  Therefore a lot wanted her available for femquisitors.

That's one of the tropes I wish Bioware would kill off. It really is okay for once to make the masculine female companion gay, I promise you won't upset the gay community. Because go figure, a lot of gay women IRL are attracted to that look, lol.

Still, believe me, if I play the game and end up really loving Seras character and her romance, I will be the absolute first to admit I was completely wrong. I really want to be wrong.

Because she comes off as not at all my type, but we still don't know a lot about her, so I hope I am pleasantly surprised. She seems like she shares a lot of character traits with Alistair, and I not only was not attracted to Alistair, but he actually actively turned me off. It's just not a personality type I enjoy.

The fact that you compared her to Alistair....... not even the same personality from what i gather. :o

Alistair. *shudders*

Alistair is probably more big picture thinking overly goody two shoes compared to Sera, but I mostly meant the joking and the not taking anything seriously aspects of him, lol.

I loved Kelly so much too. I wish Kelly and Sam were like Chakwas and Michel. I do like Sam too, she's quite sweet and cute (plus her voice is beautiful). I'm totall team Kelly too though. Sucks she didn't get anything from the Citadel DLC. At least no other LI got in a stripper outfit and danced for the PC...

Yay I can like things again.

A lot of women are disappointed they cant romance Cassandra as a woman.  I don't see that as a problem.

If I ever do pick up Inquisition, it'll be Sera whom I romance. But never once will I not want to romance Cassandra. I think it's ridiculous that Bioware chose to make her straight, even though the bulk of the vocal fanbase showed support for her as a bisexual companion. I don't normally get concerned about Bioware romances, but I do think Cassandra is a lot better of a character than Sera from what we know so far.

Yeah I was kind of disappointed with Alistars jokes.  I liked the character, but they left a lot to be desired.

When you first go to red cliff and got to joke with him about being a "Royal bastard"  I did like that one though.  I loled.

I liked Alistar.  I always considered him "my boy" if could've helped him get action i would have.

Sera is a City Elf right?

It might be interesting if she's our POV character for the plight of Orlaisian elves.

I suspect that will show a more serious side to her character. I think we'll probably find out she's a City Elf who has decided that rather than complain and **** about the world or mourn the past like the Dalish or other City Elves, she's just going to enjoy her life as much as she possibly can. I suspect, in that respect, she'll be our Isabella.

I wouldn't be adverse to that returning from DA:O.

Sadly, there was no option for Alistair.

It would have made an interesting first time.

I don't think that would be her.  She's concerned with the plight of the common people above all else but isn't specifically focusing on elves.
