I'd hate to be that guy but I highly doubt they'll say anything tomorrow.

It takes them forever even just to post something on twitter :(

PAX goes through Monday so you won't be hearing anything tomorrow. Tuesday is probably the earliest possible date.

Always remember if you are that guy then someone else doesn't have to be.  <3

If they announce the LI in a blog, it might have nothing to do with the PAX schedule.

Labor Day would be the perfect day to announce the final love interest, BioWare :)

Bioware's next announcement: In order to live up to the stereotypes of both gamer and developer, we're now going to do EVERY COMPANION AND NPC ROMANCEABLE...but only with microtransactions! Romance Leliana's nug, only $5.99!

Bioware fans' reaction?

As much as I like the romances I'd be pretty ticked of they were DLC only and wouldn't buy them. Most DLC I tend to buy or look at is for Story and Characters. I wouldn't spend money on a DLC to romance a character I already have. Though I do know the romance DLCs are in jest just felt like voicing my opinion.

I dunno. I take less exception to the idea of "cut content" than most gamers. The idea something is SUPPOSED to be there but isn't. For me, if it takes more time to develop after release date, I'm okay with paying extra for it.

And yes, it's in jest but I could be okay with it in theory.

I liked Sebastian after all.

The only thing that bothers me about romance DLC is imbalance. It seems pretty shitty to give someone less options in game and then expect them to pay for more. If it was even ground, it would be different.

Oh, they'd totally sell Leliana and Morrigan DLC in addition to gay content.

Would you consider Liar of the Shadow Broker romance DLC?

I romanced Liara in ME 1 and in ME 2 she gave me a hug and said 'nice to see you.' I definitely picked up Liar because my blue waifu was in it, but I consider it an excellent DLC even if it didn't have some nice romantic content. Also, there wasn't a real f/f romance in ME 2 at all; only the Kelly stripping easter egg.

Getting all excited over here, wondering if I should break out the celebratory hard apple cider early for Beardy's reveal as the last LI "soon"... decisions, decisions.

No matter how you look at it, someone's gonna be upset. :( I don't envy the devs when the reveal happens. Nope, nope!

Anyway, my belief is that The Chart will look something like what I've got below with Blackwall as the last LI (bi, not gated) with Cullen gated against Qunari only. He could be gated against dwarves, too, and if so, then straight femDwarves would get two options instead of three and bi femDwarves would get four instead of five :

Straight Male (Human, Dwarf, Qunari, Elf) : Josephine, Cassandra

Straight Female (Human) : Iron Bull, Cullen, Blackwall

Straight Female (Elf) : Iron Bull, Cullen, Solas, Blackwall

Straight Female (Qunari) : Iron Bull, Blackwall

Straight Female (Dwarf): Iron Bull, Cullen, Blackwall

Gay Male (Human, Dwarf, Qunari, Elf) : Dorian, Iron Bull, Blackwall

Gay Female (Human, Dwarf, Qunari, Elf) : Sera, Josephine

Bi Male (Human, Dwarf, Qunari, Elf) : Josephine, Cassandra, Iron Bull, Blackwall, Dorian

Bi Female (Human) : Sera, Josephine, Iron Bull, Cullen, Blackwall

Bi Female (Elf) : Sera, Josephine, Iron Bull, Cullen, Blackwall, Solas

Bi Female (Qunari) : Sera, Josephine, Iron Bull, Blackwall

Bi Female (Dwarf) : Sera, Josephine, Iron Bull, Cullen, Blackwall

Everyone has at least two options, unless Cullen's gated against straight* femQunari and straight* femDwarves with Vivienne as the last LI. In this case they'd only have Iron Bull as an option. If Vivienne's the last LI and gay with Cassandra gated in some form, straight males of a particular race could only have Josephine. We already know Iron Bull and Josephine aren't gated, Solas is; if not Cullen, maybe Sera, or even Viv, or Dorian. Blackwall could be straight or gay, maybe gated, too... oh, I give up. (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ︵ ┻━┻

Moving on, I'm personally gunning for Beardy as the last LI as I'm a sucker for beards and doomed romances (i.e. Thane). Hm, now that I think about it, maybe Beardy's romance doesn't have to end in doom. Supposedly there's a cure for the taint, right? Maybe we'll get a sidequest to cure Beardy so he doesn't have to face his Calling. Doomed romance not so doomed after all! I'd be down for that, even if it means sacrificing a dozen nugs or Cole's hat.

EDIT : * Forgot to clarify. *headdesk* Time for bed.

Well, I was thinking "romance DLC" would be more like a romance plot that maybe had some quests related to the romance, specifically, or even just the romance dialog and cutscenes. That's more like just a regular DLC that acknowledges your past interaction with the character, I'd say. It's definitely not heavily reliant on romance content. It would be basically impossible to duplicate with DA unless they create a repeat character at some point, I think.

ME is definitely not very m/m friendly, generally. Inquisition isn't looking to make me think they'll change much on ME4, considering DA is Bioware's more progressive title. I imagine we'll be lucky to get another squad member and side NPC.

I have to say Solas getting both race and gender gated had one positive result for me, it pretty much took Sera off the table for being race gated. Really doubt they are going to race gate both elves and two female only romances.

I can imagine something like a Citadel DLC for Inquisition, which I think had a non-party plot where you shoot people, but was really about the party where you hang out with your friends.

There is no reason so far for Cullen to be race-gated against Tal-Vashoth who has been raised in Andrastian society. Of cource there might be story-reasons in the actual game but I wouldn't say that our Tal-Vashoth has lot to do with Kirkwall Qunaris.
